You backed out after a little while, or at least you tried to. "and where are you going?" Arms you knew to be Sans encircled you. "Well, I was planning on giving you some time alone with your family since it's been so long." You leaned into him. "our family now." Sans rested his chin on your shoulder. You chuckled and kissed his cheekbone. "I'll take that. Been a great while since I had one of those." It was around this time that they remembered that you said you and your partner was dating. "NO FREAKING WAY!!! SANS, [Y/N] EXPLAIN!!!" Undyne all but screeched. You and Sans glanced at each other and then at the group, responding in unison. "Soulmates." You looked at each other again, giggling. "speaking of, all thats really left for me to do is to mark you. uh, it's kinda like... a wedding ring is what i think you humans use." Sans released you in favor of absent-mindedly scratching at his skull. "either way a mark tells other monsters that you're my mate."
"Ok, so when do we do that then?" Sans blushed at your willingness. "heh, preferably when it's just us again."

You were making lunch since you hadn't eaten yet, listening to the others talk to Sans. They were easing his regrets ever so slowly which was good. "I can't believe you're that far, Sans." Alphys was saying. "It took Undyne and I forever to get that far." Sans chuckled. "to be fair, the process is different for everyone. besides, it wasn't all as fast as you're making it out to be, it took time to explain what all this even meant to [Y/N]." Sans gave a small yelp, you assumed Undyne punched him. "Still! That's pretty awesome that you found her! Your one and only."
"I'M SURE IT'S NOT EASY BEING FATED TO A HUMAN THOUGH. Papyrus said, "I MEAN WITH EVERYTHING GOING ON. KEEPING HER SAFE MUST BE DIFFICULT."
"nah. gracious is smart. she picks up on things-"
"Oh crap was Dogaressa fed?!" The thought had come to mind when you finished up your meal. "heh, yeah i got her, gracious. she's chill for now." You sighed with relief. "That's good." Alphys looked at you both. "Dogaressa's here?"
"dogaressa is the subject we are conducting tests on." You nibbled on your meal, humming.

"HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME HOME, SANS?" You and Sans were showing Alphys everything you'd done thus far since she was going to be joining you in your research, including showing off the feral Dogaressa. Papyrus had offered as you left the room she was in. Sans blinked in surprise as he looked at bro. "uh, i don't think anyone will accept me as i am. they'd kill me the moment they saw my eyes." Papyrus couldn't find a counter argument. Sans had a valid point. "Don't suppose you could just pop in with a shortcut and talk with the person in charge, huh?" You mused as you closed the door, leaving the feral monster to her own devices. "... you want me to talk to the human leader?" You paused and looked at him. "Crap, I said that out loud..?" Sans snorted. "'fraid so gracious, how long you been thinking of going back?" You shrugged. "I haven't lately, but I've thought up what if scenarios before. I mean, your brother is the monster leader and you already have his consent to return, so now all you've got to do is talk to the president. They can do the rest from there."

Alphys and Undyne pushed Dogaressa up the incline with Frisk and Papyrus in front of them and you and Sans in back. The plan was simple. You and Sans would wait in the Ruins while Undyne and Alphys would set Dogaressa in the lab, in a room only Alphys (and Sans) had access to. Just in case. Papyrus and Frisk would talk to the president and if she seemed open to the idea of a tame feral among them, she'd be introduced to Sans. If not than you'd be sneaking around in the Ruins and lab until the cure was complete and in its final form as a gas. When the entrance came into Papyrus sight, he looked back to us. "TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. I WILL SEE YOU LATER." You saluted with a quick "Yes Sir!" before Sans looped an arm around you and you disappeared. The group of four met with the sentries and were checked before they broke off from each other, bidding each other silent good lucks as they went. Papyrus and Frisk knew it would take a few days to get an audience with the president, but with their recent incident, they know it wouldn't take any longer.

"i can't believe we're actually doing this... i accepted that i wouldn't be coming back a long time ago." You hugged Sans close as you sat on the ex-queen's bed. "If there's a chance, we should take it. For you and your family. I'm happy if you're happy Sans." He pressed a couple kisses along your jawline. "i'm happy with you and i'm actually pretty glad i got to see my bro and the others again. i kinda hope i get to come back..." He pushed you onto the bed and strattled you with a Cheshire grin on his skeletal face. "if i can't though, it would be pretty fun playing vigilante with you.." He flopped onto you suddenly, nuzzling into your neck. "Oh my stars Sans-" You wheezed as you turned tomato faced. "ya know... we are probably gonna have a few days to ourselves~" He purred into your ear. "W-which means..?"
"awe, that was cute." He rolled off of you so you could sit up. "which means if you're willing, i could officially make you mine while we have time to ourselves."
