So it was a bit weird living with your ex-boss, but in doing so, you saw a completely different side to his that you didn't know existed. A side that your mate seemed to draw out of him. You supposed that made sense, Sans was his big brother. Every day after you moved in was relatively the same, except for the afternoons when you finished for the day. You would wake up, trapped in Sans embrace, wait for him to wake up, eat breakfast with him and the General who would either argue in an oddly endearing manner or make casual conversation. You found out quickly the General didn't like puns. After that, you and Sans would go to the lab and improve upon your previous works, getting closer and closer to a cure every day. From there you'd go wherever. Sometimes it was Snowdin Forest, sometimes it was a secret room in Waterfall, sometimes it was MTT's for a dinner date. He always had stories for you, from back when they were stuck down here. Eventually you'd return home and dine with Papyrus before going to bed to repeat what happened the previous day.

You peeked into the microscope, Alphys scribbling stuff down not far from you while Sans dripped another magic sample into another variant. You hummed. The sample was still stable, lines of green integrating into Dogaressa's magic sample. You checked the clock. Fifteen minutes. It's been fifteen minutes. You peaked back in. The sample was still stable. You were getting excited as you watched on. The determination seemed to settle easily into the sample and stay that way, not overwhelming the magic as it had in past samples. "need the next sample yet?" Sans asked, curious. "Nope. The determination still hasn't overwhelmed the sample." You heard Sans get up and approach you, claws clicking on tile. A hand pressed onto your back and you moved so he could see. "it's been eighteen minutes.." Sans looked at Alphys. "let's put this one aside overnight. if it's still stable, we'll have done it." Sans removed that sample and set it aside. "test these last few, just in case." He handed you the next sample, work continuing on as usual. The others only continued to melt after a bit of time. By the time the three of you were done, you all had high hopes for sample thirteen.

The first thing you did the next day upon getting to the lab was check the sample, Sans waiting eagerly as you did so. You pulled away with a neutral expression, making it hard for Sans to read if that was good or bad so he peeked in himself. He then turned to you, his grin widening. "We did it." You told him, smiling. He jumped at you, laughing. "we did it gracious! we made a cure!" You laughed with him as he spun you around. "Let's save the celebrating for when this cures Dogaressa." Sans let go. "oh right, we should probably run some tests to make sure we don't melt her and i need to start making more in larger quantities if we're going to cure the entire monster population!" The Skeleton took off with the sample, most likely to run those tests he was talking about. Alphys came in a little late. "Where's Sans?" You paused from cleaning up the lab. "Running tests on that sample. It was still stable." She perked considerably, eyes shining. "We did it?"
"We'll see if the sample cures Dogaressa." You replied.🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️
Sans made more of the thirteenth sample and still was as he filled a syringe with the calculated dose for a monster of Dogaressa's size and weight. "injecting the subject with the sample, prey that this works guys.." All the tests Sans had run told him that it was safe to inject into a living monster, so here you were, at the final test, injecting Dogaressa with the sample. The needle was pushed into her bicep and the liquid was pushed into her system. All of you waited with baited breath for anything to happen. She closed her eyes, starting to pant. Sans decided it was best to remove her muzzle. After five minutes, Sans tried to establish communication, seeing as she wasn't melting yet. "dogaressa, can you here me?" One of her ears twitched. ("Yes... I hear you..") She murmured. You all nearly jumped with joy. ("Why am I strapped down?") She asked, trying to move her arms. ("Everything is so hazy..")
"you were feral. we used an experimental cure on you to bring you back." Sans explained as you all started to undo her bindings. Though her eyes were like Sans, she didn't attack, instead sitting up and holding her head.🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️
You took Dogaressa to see her mate again. "If you start exhibiting signs of ferality or feel uncomfortably hot, call Alphys or I, ok?" The tamed canine nodded her head. ("I can't thank you enough for this, I am truly grateful. Dogamy will be too, no doubt.") You smiled at her. "You're welcome, Dogaressa." You pointed to a door that lead into the security 'station' which was more of a small home in Snowdin. "Go get him, he's waiting." Lucky for you he actually left the building as Dogaressa started to approach, giving you full view as she hugged and kissed her mate, Dogamy too shocked to react at first. It wasn't long before he finally did react, burying his face into his mates fur and returning her hug. You watched for a minute longer, just to be sure they would be fine before you turned back towards Hotland. Speaking of mates, Sans was waiting for you. With the cure finally made, it wouldn't be long before this apocalypse was finally ended once and for all.
