January 1986

It was two months ago since that fateful event. As much as Greggy and Irene tried their hardest to go back to what used to be, it’s just never the same.
Maybe it is true.. that there are certain heartbreak that will change the way you live.. the way you love.

Irene is much more dependent to Greggy now more than ever. She would call Greggy in the middle of the day just to ask him to go home, because she misses him.

Had it been the pre-miscarriage period, Greggy would have declined. He would ask Irene to wait, but not anymore. While it is true that his company is now doing well, losing their children made him realize what is important. The most important of all- Irene.

***
Greggy is in his office studying drafts and contracts for his next project. His administrative assistant came knocking telling him that Irene is outside. While it’s pretty normal for her to drop by every once in a while.. Greggy still find it odd that she will do it on a Monday.

GREGGY’s POV:

I stand to welcome Irene… my Irene. She walks in wearing the most casual I have seen her. Just jeans and plain white shirt.

“Love..”
‘Honeeeey’ She puts her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist.

“Woah, Love. Easyyyy. Baka matumba tayo. Let’s sit down nga. You look like a koala bear, alam mo ba”.
‘Don’t care. I miss you, honey. Hon?’
“Oh-oh. What is it this time? Love.. Monday today. See those? Kailangan ko sila tapusin.”
‘Edi finish them. Dito lang ako sayo. Sabay na tayo umuwi. Hon?’
“Hmm? Ano po? May kailangan ang asawa ko?”
‘Yeah! Let’s go out of town? Yung tayo lang. Please? Walang PSG, walang kahit na ano. Tayo lang. Please?’

I get the going away part, but not the PSG. Things are getting harder now. Much dangerous if I may be frank about it. There’s protest left and right, and my fear every time Irene would go out is for her to find herself caught up in the middle of that.

“Bakit walang PSG? Love.. delikado diba? Alam mo naman ehh. We can’t leave without them, hindi papayag si Daddy.”
‘Gusto ko tayo lang, Greggy.’

She’s kissing me from my jaw moving her way to my lips. Fck. I cannot get distracted. Focus, Araneta!

“Irene.. please? We will go naman.. pero..”
‘What? Ha?’
“Fuck Love.. what are you doing?”
‘Kini kiss ka. Continue talking, please’

She’s starting to move her hips, and all I can think about… is how amazing would it be if I could just take her right now.

“I can’t. Mag behave ka muna. Stop moving.”
‘I want you honey.. now.’
“Irene.. nasa office tayo.”
‘I want you, Greggy.. baka pwede na hon? Gawa na tayo ulit ng baby natin. Please?’
“Love pwede naman.. sa bahay, uuwi tayo. Okay? Not here.”
‘Why not? Now na, please?’
“Ayyy. Wag matigas ulo, please? Sa bahay na lang Irene.”

IRENE’s POV:

It is an absolute delight to see Greggy panic.
Of course I’m not going to push him to do “that” in here! But it is funny how he is reacting, thinking that we might.

“Crazy ka. What makes you think na gagawin natin yun dito? Pero can I stay? Dito lang ako, quiet lang ako. I won’t disturb you, I promise.”
‘Fine. I really am so busy today, sorry ha?’
“It’s fine. Honey… kapag rich ka na, can you transfer to the top floor, please? Sa penthouse. Para maganda yung view. Bitin naman dito sa 8th floor.”
‘You are so funny, baby. What do you mean kapag rich na ako? Ikaw talaga.’
“Basta! Transfer ka sa 21st ha? Para I won’t get bored. You can do it naman no. You’re so smart kaya. I love you Greggy ko.”
