September 16,1996- Irene's Birthday

It was two months ago since Greggy and Irene first saw each other. Two months.
And they haven't seen each other again since.

Greggy tried calling their home in San Juan in the pretense that he wanted to check on Imelda. And Imelda knew that this was because of Irene, but she never meddle with how Irene handles her personal affair. So there really is nothing for Greggy to do but to wait for the heavens to allow them to meet again.

GREGGY's POV:

I can feel every muscle in my body aching. Clea was playing the whole day yesterday! Age is really catching up on me, huh?

It's half past six and my annoyance is only starting. I have tonnes of work to do but I have to miss out on my morning briefings because they scheduled Clea's recital today! Who does recital on a Monday anyway? Oh how I hate her school or whoever is behind this.

As I'm trying to catch up on some more sleep, the door to my room opens revealing the sweetest pumpkin ever.

'Daddy..'
"Come here. Tabi ka kay Daddy."
'Ayaw. Wake up na Daddy! I can't be late. Magagalit si Mommy.'

I am wondering who is she. She's all Clea talks about! Why would she let my daughter call her 'mommy'? Does she knows who Clea is?

If she is doing this to use Clea for her own personal gain, then she is getting it all wrong.

"Clea.. princess? This mommy of yours, how is she nga anak? I mean.. with you?"
'She's the best Mommy, Daddy! I can sleep better because she told me to drink milk with her baked cookies. She cooks soooo well Daddy! Just like Nanay Yolly's cooking! Oh and she's sooo pretty! Very pretty ng Mommy ko'

HA? May ka kambal ba si Irene? The way Clea describes this woman, all I can think of that will fit in the category is my Irene.

"Well, do you still have some of your cookies?"
'You want some? Just one Daddy ha? They're mine! Wait here. And please move na! I don't want to be late.'

Clea came back in no time holding this bucket of cookies. They look way too familiar, pero baka parehas lang?

'Here, Daddy.' But as I take a bite, I can never be wrong as to who baked them.

"Irene?"
'What? How did you know Mommy's name?'
"Ha? Ano yun, anak?"
'Pano mo alam name ni Mommy? Sinabi sayo ni Kuya Roman?' Roman is Clea's driver.

"No, no. Ahh.. baby? Is Mommy really pretty? And yung eyes nya, singkit?"
'What's singkit? But yeah, really really pretty! And Daddy, let's buy some flowers ha? Birthday ngayon ni Mommy.'

She went out of my room running while hugging her bucket of cookies.
I jumped out of the bed to check what date is today.

September 16.

Fuck! She mentioned project with CCP. Beacon International did tied up with them for today's recital. Shit. Clea's mommy is Irene?

She really is your mother, Clea.
Flowers? That's easy. Red tulips.

***
IRENE's POV:

Today starts the recitals for the schools under this special project with CCP. And as tiring and as busy as I was the past two months, I have to admit that I am going to miss it.

Now I have to contemplate whether when will I be going back to California. That should be an easy decision, but that was before I met Clea. I never thought that I would feel this close towards her. Clea is really like a daughter to me. I am looking forward to every trainings and workshops just for me to be with her again.
