Muke HP AU-Hogwarts

It wasn't an odd occurrence, students assuming or simply knowing what house they would be in. It had been no different for Luke.

Luke Hemmings, practically famous for his parents work as Ministry work through the You Know Who Times, having since been fairly close to people such as Hermione Granger and Harry Potter. His family had always been Gryffindors, the odd few being in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, but Luke knew from the moment he got his letter where he was going to be placed.

~~~
Michael had zero clue. His parents both working simple day jobs that paid the bills and having no affairs with magic. At least until his letter handed to him by someone who claim to be a teacher at the so-called school that he was offered to be at. His parents only nodded after speaking with the older woman who was standing in their living room. Michael could only hope to find better luck in this magic school than he had anywhere in the normal world.
~~~

Ashton and Calum had been best friends since toddlers, both half-bloods knowing about their magic half, spending every moment nearing their eleventh birthdays waiting for the letter. Ashton, being a year older, got his and left Calum for a year but returned to only increase the younger boy's wonder at the idea of the magic world.

Slytherin. He had ended up in Slytherin. Michael knew little of the magic world at this point and he knew that he had not wanted to end up in Slytherin despite the curly haired boy's comforts that Muggle Borns, what Michael assumed to be a term for himself, could never be in Slytherin. Yet here he was trying his best to not break down in front the whole new school as he silently walked to the Slytherin table, all eyes watching as he took a seat. There were no kind smiles or even teasing grins, all the opposite with either disgust or hatred.

Michael collapsed in on himself, begging for the sorting to continue.

~~~
Luke smiled brightly as the sorting hat yelled Gryffindor with little thought to the hall. The whole table applauding, his brothers giving him shit eating grins as they patted his back.
Luke continued smiling till the sorting continued putting his focus back on the hat. "Hood, Calum." The dark-haired boy walked to the hat sitting down quite calmly before the hat was placed on his head. Unlike Luke the hat seemed to process the boy on the stool, remaining still for a few moments before yelling "Gryffindor" to the hall.
Luke stood and cheered as the boy smiled, a bittersweet look on his face as he glanced to the curly haired boy at the Hufflepuff table before getting seated at his own table, taking a seat next to Luke.
Michael had always had a fondness for animals. From begging all summer to be brought to the zoo, each time ignoring the fact that he had probably gone not a week earlier, to getting a dog on his tenth birthday, who he missed greatly and wanted nothing more than to cuddle in his own bed. Instead, he took to talking to the groundskeeper, Hagrid, going to his dog Fang for his much-needed animal love.
He was still an outcast, the other houses ignoring him for being a Slytherin and the Slytherin house ignoring him for being a Muggle born, one of the few things he finally understood. Classes weren't too hard; he was picking things up easier than expected. He briefly talked to another Slytherin, Zayn. The raven-haired boy was in year 4 and had offered to help with a few things but otherwise stuck to his own group of friends, leaving Michael alone again.
