The Illusion of Life

Brought me from dark,

To light.

From death,

To life.

I dreamed,

When I had none.

As a child,

That had just been born.

My story had just begun.

Once again,

My old youth is smiling hope.

Holding on to life;

A bloody grip to elope,

And I am left alone to cope.

An opponent’s head dropped off,

With one smooth blow,

That causes little or no pain.

Little or no gain,

It drives me insane.

And when my kindness strikes,

Used for enmity that voluntarily surrenders.

I offend the pretender.

And once again,

I am out of breath.

A black destruction.

That keeps us beneath.

The surface of this Cursed earth.

I am the illusion of life.

Explanation

This poem tells about life, living and death. They brought us to life like a seed, from darkness to life. To breathe and dream. It is the beginning of or story. Later in life, in dreaming, we have hopes and wishes. We get stopped by obstacles, family, friends and the society. Which is a bloody grip to elope.

The third stanza tells about success, sacrifices and breakthrough. It comes with little or no gain. No self satisfaction, you still want more. And dream on. The fourth stanza tells about those you don’t want to hurt. They would also get offended as the pretender. The fake people which are usually friends and leaders.

And once again, after seeing so much light, death comes knocking. Burying us beneath the earth. The Illusion of Life is like day and night. It all comes and goes in circles. But life is only once. If you have a day to live, how do you spend it?
