I'm Not A Politician

I am not a politician,
But here I am
My mouth saying a thousand stories
To cope
In a position of hope.

I am not a politician
A profession where one
Is meant to be the flag bearer of truth.
Yet, I am a poet.
An observer of emotions
A drug and not a poison for our youths.

I am not a politician,
And I prefer not to be referred to as one.
But I will speak my mind,
Without wrapping the scenes behind.

I am not a politician,
A party player or a societal attrition.
So, dear politicians...
Do you ever hear the cry of the people you lead?
Or the pressure of miseries they bleed?
Have you felt the torture of a child,
Whose family you had zeroed from seven to one?
No!
All you do is sit and watch
Another headline in the news.
And soon, it's no news.
How fast are people's deaths, forgone?

I am not a politician,
But I understand
That enough is enough!
That the outrage is tough and rough
As it is in this country of ours
Isn't just a bluff!
