Taylor POV cont.
Tanner had passed out in his puke leaving me to drive but I didn't mind.
I had the windows rolled down and a country song was blaring.
I still remembered the way to Riley's like the back of my hand.
I had no idea what I was doing till I pulled up to her driveway and saw all the cars.
So this is the party Austin was talking about.
Finding a place to park was pointless so I pulled onto Riley's massive lawn and do some donuts till I felt I'd done enough damage. I didn't care who saw me. There was a new queen bitch in town and it was time Riley knew.
I search every room for Riley but the rooms are too packed.
'Taylor!'
My head turns at the sound of my name and my eyes land on Austin.
A idea forms in my head. I'd let Riley think Tanner had done it then passed out in his vomit.
I turn around and shove past people till I reach the front yard where Riley was currently cussing Tanner out.
I slip my shoes off, deciding it was a horrible idea to wear stilettos.
I'd barely gotten a block from the party when a car stops behind me, illuminating my body.
'Taylor!' Austin yells, running up behind me and grabbing my arms. 'What'd he do? Tell me, I'll kill him. Did he hurt you? Taylor, are you okay?'
I look up at him finally noticing the rain falling. Thunder claps above us, scaring me and I jump.
'He won't touch you ever again. I promise you Taylor. If he does, he'll wish he never had.' He drops his arms right as lighting flashes overhead.
He cups my face and uses his thumb to wipe away a tear I hadn't known was falling.
I surprise myself and Austin when I press my lips against his. He instantly relaxes and we kiss for a minute before I pull away.
'I want to go home.' I whisper before turning around for his truck.
Austin POV
Taylor hadn't talked the whole way home. She just looked out the window, with tears silently streaming down her face.
We were almost home when she turned to me. 'Can you spend the night? Bailee's gone and I don't want to be alone. You can sleep in Bailee's bed. We'll tell my dad your gay or something.'
I laugh and she smiles. 'I remember when you use to make me laugh all the time. I miss that.'
'I did that to hear you laugh, you know. I love your laugh.'
She blushes and I wonder how she didn't know I liked her all along.
'I said that to hear you laugh.' She says quietly.
'Really?' I ask, getting excited.
'No.' She says chuckling.
'Very funny.' I kill my truck. 'I'll text my mom and tell her I'm spending the night at Alex's so she won't suspect anything.'
'You coming Mahomey?' She asks opening her door.
'Coming Soap.'
XXXXXXX
'Did I really go into the party looking like this? I look like a raccoon.' She says peering in the mirror before looking at me. 'I'm going to take a shower. Here's the remote. You can get on Netflix on my laptop. Passwords my birthday. You do remember it right?'
I nod and she continues. 'I'll hurry and we can get some food.'
I start flipping through the channels and jump on Bailee's bed.
Taylor goes inside her closet and pulls out some clothes and a towel. 'Quit staring Mahomey.' She walks out and looks at me. 'Or else I'll give you something to stare at.'
She smirks and winks at me and I laugh.
