Austin POV

I watch Taylor leave and mentally punch myself.

Why wasn't I going after her? She needed a rebound and I could be that guy.

Of course, I wanted to be more than the rebound guy; I was in love with her.

Always had been but the way things were looking unless I made a move fast, Taylor would be gone.

"You know it actually amazes me that after all the shit you put Taylor through, she's still in love with you. If I was her, I would of done gotten over you by now." Bailee says in my mind.

I replayed that night through my head a thousand times wanting to die every time I remembered it. If I had just kept my mouth shut and not said anything of what I did, Taylor and I would be cool now. But we weren't. We were more like sorta friends. Sometimes friends, other times not.

I wanted to be more than friends for the rest of our lives. I had found my soulmate before I was five. Most people don't find their soul mates till they're old and gray. And I wasn't wasting any longer of her not knowing. She deserves to know. And if she didn't love me back, I'd be cool with it. But I wasn't going down without a fight.

I run to my room and change into my swim trunks and a white bro tank before running to the elevator.

"Yo Austin, what's the rush?" Tyler asks, getting out of the elevator.

"Going to the beach. Can't talk." I yell.

"Maybe he finally realized that he actually has a chance with Taylor and is taking it." I hear Bailee say before the doors close.

She was right.

I'd never been so sure of anything in my life.

I loved Taylor Sophia Kingsley and there was no way I could live knowing she was happy with a guy that wasn't me.

I run out the lobby and goto the beach and realize that she could be anywhere on the beach. And I stupidly left my phone upstairs.

Great, I'd never find her.

I start to walk through the crowd, hoping to catch a glimpse of her or at least hear her voice.

About ten minutes later, I was ready to give up. It was impossible to find her when the beach was packed with a million hot, sweaty bodies.

"Austin!" A voice yells in front of me and I search for who it was.

A giant smile comes across my face when I realize its Taylor.

"So you decided to come after all. Austin, meet Shay. Shay this is Austin Mahone. She goes to the private school in San Antonio and cheers there. That's how I know her." Taylor explains pointing to the redhead. I wave and flash her a smile. "And drumroll please-" Taylor says, obviously pleased with herself. "I got us all tickets to all the parties and nightclubs down here. Shay helped of course."

"It was really nice meeting you Austin and it was good seeing someone I know Taylor. Text me where you wanna meet for tonight." Shay says, disappearing into the crowd.

"I don't know about you but this is way too many people here. I'm fixing to goto the hotel pool and just hang there till like 6. You wanna come?" Taylor asks, walking through the crowd leaving me no choice but to follow her or get run over.

"Sure. I saw the others and you can text them to come down."

Taylor stops and looks me in the eye. "I want it to be just us two. We can catch up. I haven't seen you in forever it seems like."

She continues to walk and I have to practically run to keep up with her.

She wanted to catch up? Maybe she was still in love with me. Maybe she wanted me to be her rebound guy! It was a long shot but it might actually be true. We did grow up together. "He's cute." She says, motioning to a guy.

"Nope. Player and a mommas boy in disguise."

"What about him?" She says pointing to a tall brown haired guy.

"He's way too tall. You'd have to wear heels and he'd still have to bend over to kiss you."

She laughs. "Ooh, what about him?" She says pointing a blonde haired, blue eyed guy by himself. "He's cute right? And all by himself. I can make my move."

I shake my head. "He's waiting for someone."

We watch as a blonde girl walks up to the guy and kisses him.

"So you were right. What about him? He's nice. Not too tall, not too short. Has a cute face. And no acne. And pretty eyes."

Taylor looks at me for approval. I couldn't find anything wrong with him.

"I can see you with him but..."

Taylor rolls her eyes. "So how do you like Miami so far?" She asks leaning in closer. "I loved living here."

"It's gorgeous. I love everything about it. It's so different from anything I know. In San Antonio, it's nothing like this. It'd feel weird if it was like this. But I miss being home in my old house with my friends within a mile or two from me. Now I need a plane to go see them. Like whoa, that's different."

Taylor nods. "I totally understand that. I'd hate moving away from my friends, like I need their support with them by my side not through a computer or phone. But I guess it's part of the job and you get use to it."

"You do get use to it. It just takes some time. But it also helps if you have money to fly your friends and loved ones to where you are." I say, laughing. "That's what I do with the crew."

She laughs. "If I had money to blow, I'd do that too."

"Excuse me but would you like to be in a whipped cream contest? You have like the perfect body. I'm Chris by the way. What's your name?"

"Taylor!" Bailee yells running up to us excitedly.

"Your friend can come too." Chris says, checking Bailee out.

"Look dude, there minors. Go away." I say, feeling protective.

Chris backs off and disappears into the crowd.

"Austin, I wanted to do it." Taylor protests.

"He was a tool." I say.

"No he wasn't." Taylor says.

"Yes, he was."

'Wasn't."

"Was too."

"Was NOT."

"Alright shut up! Guess what?" Bailee shouts.

"You know what? Who even invited you along with me?" Taylor snaps. "And what the hell is your problem? I told you that I'm on the rebound and every guy I like, you turn your nose up at him. Why did you even come if all your gonna do is disapprove with every guy I choose?"

"Do you not remember what happened last time you chose your own boyfriend?" I ask, before realizing what I said. "Taylor, I'm sorry. That was low."

She shakes her head. "I think you should go Austin."

I watch as she turns to Bailee. "Walk with me."

I stay where I was till I lost sight of her backside in the crowd.

And once again, I had done it again.
