Austin POV
"She just pulled in." Bailee says. "Keep cool."
I look out at the parking lot and notice she parked right behind Alex's SUV.
"Austin don't say anything unless spoken too. I'm doing all the talking here okay?" Bailee says.
I nod and roll my eyes. I could hold my own without her assistance.
The bell rings signaling her entrance and I hear her placing her order.
"You made it!" Bailee says, jumping up to hug her.
"I can only stay for a little while. I have errands I need to finish." Taylor says, looking at everyone but me. "How've you guys been? I haven't seen you in forever. I've been super busy with college and figuring out my plan after graduation and other fun stuff."
The guys answer and she looks at me. "And you? How've you been Austin?"
"I've been good." I respond. That was a huge lie. I've been horrible. Not talking to her or being near her was driving me crazy. I needed her like the sun needs the moon.
She smiles at me. "That's good." She pulls a chair up to the booth and sits down.
"Austin can scoot over. Right Austin?"
I nod and move over.
Taylor sits down next to me and I notice she stays on the edge of the booth.
"So how's life guys? Excited for graduation?"
The waitress brings Taylor her drink and she stirs the straw around as she listens to everyone.
Pretty soon, everyone is bringing up old memories and Taylor falls into place like she had never left.
After two hours had passed, Taylor and Bailee excused themselves to the restroom leaving us guys here.
"Austin, you okay?" Alex asks. "You don't want to leave, do you? Cause you can."
"He's not leaving." Zach says. "Right Austin?"
I look around, contemplating on how I should respond. It was like before. But there was still an elephant in the room. And I wasn't sure it would ever go away.
"Taylor wait!" Bailee yells causing all of us to look back.

Taylor POV
"Austin's into you." Bailee blurts as soon as the door is shut. "I see the way he looks at you. He still loves you. You should give him a chance."
"What?" I ask even though I clearly heard her.
"Austin likes you. It's obvious." She says, looking at me. "Are you okay Taylor? You went really pale."
I look in the mirror and notice that my face had gone white like I'd seen a ghost.

"Pardon me." I say, running to the door and flinging it open.

The rest was a blur. All I remember is running to my car and Austin following me.

He's wraps his arms around me and I lost it. I was bawling like a baby into his shoulder."Shh it's okay. I'm here." He whispers into my hair.

"I need to go. I need to leave. Austin. Coming here was a mistake. I'm sorry." I say in between sobs.
"You can't drive. I'll drive you." He protests, wiping a tear off my cheek.
I hold my keys out and go around to the passenger side. I wasn't going to argue when I had a huge headache and all I wanted was to go home.
He takes a left out of the parking lot instead of a right which is the way to my house and I soon realize that he isn't taking me home.
He quietly hums to himself as he drives and I find myself watching him.
"Why are you staring at me?" He finally asks.

"I'm sorry for everything Austin. Me getting revenge on you got out of hand and I apologize. I lost my head and took things too far. I hurt a lot of people in the process and I felt horrible afterwards. I know me apologizing doesn't fix things or change what I did but I just thought you should know."
He continues to drive and I wonder where he's going.
Finally he turns onto a road at the edge of town and it soon turns into country side.
"Where are we going?" I finally ask, breaking the silence.
"To the lake." He replies.
"There's a lake?" You ask.
"You've never been? You've lived here before though. Are you telling me you've never been?"
I nod. "You are talking to the girl who use to not have friends remember?"
He laughs. "I remember. But I was your friend."
"That was a shitty way of showing me you were my friend." I snap before I can stop it. "Austin, I don't know where that came from. I'm so sorry."

"Don't apologize. I deserve it. Everything you've done, I deserve."

But you don't. Neither of us deserved any of it.
And I'm sorry for everything. I can forgive but I'll never forget. Kinda like I can move on but never be over you because I love you Austin. Always have, always will.
But I don't say that. Because an awkward silence has fallen in the car.
So I turn up the radio and watch the trees pass by.
