Taylor POV
I drop Austin back off at Alex's after promising to text him and go home.
Bailee is nowhere to be found so I couldn't apologize for my behavior earlier.
I head to the kitchen to get something to eat and turn the TV on.
"Hello? Is anyone home?" A familiar voice calls. "Anyone?"
"Alexa!" I yell and run into the living room. "I missed you!" I practically tackle her with my hug.
I hadn't seen her since Christmas.
"I missed you too Taylor. Where is everyone? And why are your clothes wet?" Alexa asks, after I release her and she can breathe again.
"I just got home actually. And I went swimming but I haven't had time to change yet. I have so much to tell you."
"About?"
"Everything duh. Austin included."
"Wait, Austin Mahone? The kid who use to bully you? Are you serious Tay?"
I nod and tell her everything. And I mean everything.
"It's like I love him and I love being around him but I can't forget what he did in the past to me. I want to forgive him especially after everything I've done to him. What do I do Alexa?"
The front door slams and Alexa tells me we'll talk later and goes to see who it is. "Is that? It is! Bailee! Come give your sister some loving!"
I smile to myself before grabbing my phone and going upstairs.
"You make it home okay?" - Austin
"Yeah. Alexa is home that's why I didn't respond back as fast. Throwing myself into a all nighter study sesh as we speak. -___-"
"Oh okay. I'll let you be." - Austin.
I open my Economics book and study the review our teacher gave us.
My phone goes off and I see its a picture message from Austin. And it's Ryan Gosling. With the caption "Hey girl, ace those exams and we can cuddle 24/7."
I laugh and smile and send back a picture that says "bitch please".
Wait I couldn't be flirting with him. I have dreams. Dreams that don't involve a guy or him for that matter. I can't fall for him. All I need is friends.
And that's all he'll ever be. A friend.
I need to remember that next time I see him.
Austin POV
"Congratulations class of 2014, you made it!" The principle yells and all you see is everyone caps go flying.
"Go Taylor and Bailee and Ebony! I love y'all!" Alexa yells. "Look Emma, momma made it! Yes she did. She certainly did and one day you will too!"
I smile at Alexa. Little kids are adorable, especially babies.
Bailee's little sister smiles at me and I think her name is Gwen. "Why don't you all go wait outside and I'll find the girls and guys?" Taylor's dad tells us.
Bailee's mom was here, Alex's family was here, Roberts family was here, and so was Zach's family.
Alexa puts Emma back into her carrier and we move outside.
Fifteen minutes pass before we see the girls walking towards us with Alex, Robert and Zach in tow.
"About time!" Alexa mutters.
"Lets take pictures before I cry okay?" Bailee yells.
"Girls in front, boys in back." Bailee's mom says.
"Austin, get your ass in here." Bailee says. "Oops sorry Gwen."
"But I didn't graduate." I protest.
Taylor smiles at me. "Here. You can wear my cap."
"Do one without Austin and then have him in it." Alexa says.
I stand behind Taylor with her cap on and smile. And then come the numerous pictures of everyone by themselves or with someone.
I end up taking pictures with foolish four and even took one with Taylor - she wanted one, not me.
I could just imagine all the fan accounts later when they saw these pictures.
"Austin went to graduation." "Austin took pictures with foolish
four and even Taylor"
"Taylor gave Austin her cap and even took pictures with her."
"Taylor and Austin are a thing!"
Everyone stands around while we finish up pictures.
"Taylor I want a picture!" Alexa calls from where she's talking to an old friend.
"I'm shaking right now. I can't believe I graduated high school. It only took me 12 years." Taylor says, laughing before the frown returns to her face.
"Hey don't let it get you down." Alexa says pulling Taylor into a hug. "You know she's looking down at you and smiling. She would've loved to be here you know. She wouldn't of missed it for the world. She was here. I felt her. She's so proud of you Taylor. So proud of you. Her baby girl is all grown up now and she's here in spirit and is watching over you. She'll always be watching over you. She's your guardian angel you know. I love you so much and I am so proud of you."
Just watching Taylor break down because her mom wasn't here broke my heart and I had to hide a few tears.
"I brought flowers for you. I forgot them in the car." Alexa says. "I bought two bouquets. Roses and daisies. I figured we could stop by moms grave on the way home and say hi."
Taylor wipes away tears and smiles. "That's what I had planned. You guys are coming to my party later right? I better see all of you." She says her goodbyes to everyone before following her dad to the car. They were all going to see Taylor's mom at her grave sight.
I leave with Alex and his parents and Andrew and they take us out to eat at Olive Garden.
And I wish I'd gone with Taylor to see her mom. I hated seeing her cry like that and knowing I couldn't do a damn thing about it.
I hated it. I seriously did. And if I'd gone, I maybe could've helped her. Or be no help at all and cry along with her.
Which ever one came first.
I couldn't imagine what she would be feeling when she got married and had kids. She would need her mom more than ever.
I never realized how much having your mom alive would mean to you.
My dad had passed away before I was born so I never knew what it was like to actually have a father.
I couldn't imagine losing my mom the way Taylor did and I can't believe I put her through all the shit after her mom passed. I was still sorta her friend then and then I turned my back on her and just turned on her.
I couldn't believe I did that. I was so stupid.
