Austin POV
I arrived at the game in the second quarter with Tyler. We stopped for dinner at Whataburger and it ended up that some Mahomies were there and wanted to talk our ear off while we ate.
I loved my Mahomies but there comes a time when it's not okay to talk to me like when I'm eating or need to use the bathroom.
'We normally sit down by the cheerleaders so Alex can watch Bailee cheer.' Tyler says as we walk through the crowded stadium.
'Isn't it awkward because of Sarah or no? They did leave things, they broke up on bad terms.' I say.
Tyler shrugs. 'He doesn't talk about her. It's Bailee this, Bailee that. It's sickening really.'
I laugh. 'He's in love. You've never been in love?'
Tyler rolls his eyes and shakes his head no. 'Love is for losers like Alex.'
'Austin!' Robert yells and I turn at my name. 'That's my name, don't wear it out.'
'Are you guys hungry? Alex didn't stop for dinner so I have to eat stadium food.'
'We had Whataburger. You should've came with us.' Tyler says. We wait in line with him while he gets his food then go to the stands.
Tonight I was enjoying myself even though Taylor had a boyfriend. I didn't care. I was over her.
I was going to enjoy the weekend I had with my friends.
Taylor POV
'Halftime yes!' The girl next to me yells. I really needed to learn everyone's names since I was the captain and it'd been 6 weeks since I became a cheerleader.
Bailee loops her arm through mine and we walk to the stands together.
'I see Alex.' Bailee says before running over to him. They were so happy together it was sickening.
My eyes go over everyone to see who I could talk to for 20 minutes while halftime was going on. Austin was here and he was talking to Tyler. It's now or never Taylor. Just say what you need to say and everything will be okay.
'Austin can we talk privately?' I ask, before walking to empty part of the stands. 'Look I'm sorry you had to find out this way. I wanted to tell you to your face but your in Florida and I didn't want to tell you through the phone or through a text. I'm dating Drew now and I hope we can stay friends.' Who was I kidding? I was still hopelessly in love with the boy in front of me. Always had been, no matter who I was dating or had a crush on. It'd always been him.
'I'm sorry I had to find out the way I did too. I honestly thought that when I got back from Florida, things between us-' he stops. 'Don't bother to call or text me Taylor. I won't answer.' Austin snaps before walking away.
The sudden urge to burst into tears overwhelms me and I blink as a tear rolls down my face. The guy I was hopelessly in love with wasn't the guy I had fallen for all those years ago. It was the jerk who made me cry so many days and nights.
Bailee POV
I watch as Taylor goes up to Austin and tells him they need to talk then they goto an empty part of the stadium. It was good that they were talking about Taylor dating Drew. She wanted Austin to be okay with it.
I zone back into what Alex is saying and smile. I can't believe I'd gotten an amazing guy like him.
I feel a breeze behind me and look back. Austin was back next to Tyler and Taylor was- where was Taylor?
I look around and find her walking fast down the stairs. 'What'd you do to Taylor?' I snap turning back to face Austin.
'I told her what I needed to say.'
