Act: 1: Ch 1

CHAPTER 1: THE VANISHING OF WILL BYERS

"where did it go?" the young girl shouted as she frantically looked around the small basement, before she bumped into Mike. the other boys ran around them, not noticing the blush that crept onto the two teens faces.

"fifteen after." Karen called from the top of the steps pointing at her watch. Mike groaned and ran upstairs to talk to her.

Valerie held her arm rubbing it before fixing her hair quickly, and looked around, hearing the exclamation of Will.

"Oh! I got it! Does a seven count?" Will questioned, running up to her and Lucas. the two studied it slowly before shrugging.

"well.." Valerie started, looking at Lucas for his opinion.

"did Mike see it?" he questioned, the two watching Will shake his head no. Valerie smiled slightly.

Tugging her jacket on, Valerie shook her head. "then it doesn't count." she smiled softly.

Will only shook his head slightly looking at her. then they all headed up the stairs one by one while dustin bothered to ask if anyone wanted the left over pizza, even though nobody did.

all four kids headed up the steps towards the door before Dustin passed them and headed up the steps towards Nancy room with the pizza box in hand.

Valerie snickered silently before walking through the door that Mike held open for her. She sent him a soft smile which he returned quickly.

"dustin is gonna get declined." she chuckles to herself.

as if on cue, Dustin walked out with his mouth stuffed with Pizza, along with a mad expression a-crossed his face. Valerie and Will both chuckle quietly under their breath, knowing Valerie called it.

"there's something wrong with your sister" said Dustin as Mike rolled his eyes.

"what do you mean?" mike questioned bluntly, turning to the boy.

"she's got a stick up her butt." dustin said, Lucas nodding in a agreement as he gripped his bike beside him.

"yeah, because she started dating that d-" Lucas stopped as the only girl in the group turned slightly red because that boy he was about to name was her older brother Steve.

"that's my cue." she joked with a small and awkward laugh as Mike stood beside her, glaring at the boys.

"oh-" Lucas frowned, stepping forward but Valerie cracks a small smile and shakes her head.

"it's okay. you all hate my brother, i get it." she spoke truthfully, lightening the mood as Lucas nods and returns to his bike.

"anyways my point is, Nancy is turning into a real jerk." said dustin as Mike sighed.

"she's always been a jerk." mike replies with one raised eyebrow, giving Dustin a look.

the two started to bicker and it didn't end until Lucas had dragged dustin along and the two biked away leaving Mike, Valerie, and Will standing right outside the Wheelers garage.

"it was a 7," Will had told Mike the truth. Mike glanced at him as Valerie nudged him shaking her head when he furrowed his eyebrows at Will.

"hm?" he hummed, confused at wills sudden statement.

"i rolled a seven.. the demogorgon.. it got me." Will informed as Mike furrowed his eyebrows. "well i'll see you guys tomorrow." Will suddenly said, changing the eerie feeling to a good one. while leaving, Valerie shared him a small wave with a small plastered on her face.

"well i better go..." she shrugged once Will was out of view, sarcasm in her voice.

"sure yeah, thanks for uh coming?" the raven haired responded, giving the girl in front of him an awkward smile that she returned, like always.

"see you tomorrow, wheeler."
