ACT 2: CH 6
CHAPTER SIX: THE SPY

Valerie, Steve and Dustin walked the train tracks, occasionally tossing out meat for Dart. The fact Steve was helping them out confused Valerie more then anything. She did not once think he'd ever would.

"Alright let me get this straight you kept something that could be dangerous in order to impress a girl who.. who you just met?" Valerie gasped at this. Both of the boys turning towards her.

"You like Max?!" She definitely didn't see that one coming. Dustin rolled his eyes and continued walking.

"Why would some girl want some nasty slug anyways?" Steve asked Dustin which made Valerie giggle. Because it was true. Why would Max want Dart?

"An interdimensional slug? I don't know, because it's awesome?" Dustin answered.

"Well even if she thought it was cool, which she didn't. I.. I don't know, your game is just weird." Steve told him.

"And how would you know that brother?" Valerie asked from in front of him which earned a shove. She chuckled before quickly gaining her balance. "Not everyone can have good hair."

"It's not just the hair V. The key to girls is just... acting like you don't care." Steve shrugged and Valerie lost it. She broke out into laughter because that was definitely not it.

"Even if you do?" Dustin asked Steve, clearly believe a every foolish thing he says.

"Yep Exactly. Drives them nuts." Steve spoke confidently which made Valerie laugh even more. Her brother was so stupid.

"then what?" Dustin continues to ask Steve because apparently he knows everything about relationships.

"You wait until uh.. until you feel it." Valerie scrunched her nose.

"Feel what?" Dustin was still clueless.

Valerie picked up pace so she got far enough ahead that she didn't have to here rest of the conversation. she felt as if something hit her, something was blocking her airway or something. While she continued to walk, her mind went back to her and Mike in Will's room. Did that kiss mean something? She didn't know.

Soon they arrived at some old junkyard. Steve removed the sunglasses and overlooked the place. "Yeah oh yeah this will do, good call man."

Dustin smiled proudly as Valerie and Steve continued throwing out meat in a trail before dumping it all into the middle.

"I said medium-well!" Valerie spun around and saw Lucas and Max. Both were smiling as they appeared. Valerie immediately jogged over and hugged the redhead.

"Max!"

"V!" The two giggled before pulling apart. "You smell like meat."

"Who's that?" Steve asked as he watched the two girls interact. He then looked over at Dustin's saddened face before realizing. Dustin was looking at Lucas.

"Lucas can we talk?" Dustin asked when Lucas got close enough. Valerie looked at Steve with an "oh shit" look when the two walked off together.
