ACT 2: CH 2
CHAPTER TWO: Trick or Treat Freak.

Valerie waited for Steve's signal before hurrying out of the house and towards Maple street, where she was supposed to meet the party. Dustin had approached her at the end of the school asking her to tag along and sense she never actually been able to go trick or treating she thought to the hell with it and decided to go.

the cold autumn air tinted her cheeks pink as she kept an eye out for the four boys. she smirked to herself when she saw the matching ghostbusters costumes and hurried to walk up behind them.

she sorta wished she brought a warmer jacket as she pulled hers around her, walking up behind them; still unnoticed. she opened her mouth to scare the daylights out of them but ended up closing them when somebody had beaten her to it.

somebody had taken it into their own hands and jumped out from behind a sign, scaring the boys in front of Valerie shitless. Valerie fumbled over with laughter.

lifting the mask, releasing the information of it was, Valerie laughed even harder, Max joining her. "oh my god you should have seen your guys faces!" Max chirped before looking at Lucas with a wider grin. "and you, who screams like that? you sounded like a little girl." she laughed once more before turning around, walking off.

when she noticed not one boy moved, she turned to face them. "you guys coming or not? oh i heard we should hit up Lock Nora, that's where the rich people live right?"

Valerie snickered quietly when Dustin and Lucas hurried off at her leaving Will, Valerie and Mike walking together. Mike seemed more hesitate about following them and Valerie shared a look with Will, which he understood and ran to catch up with the other three.

"hey buddy what's up?" Valerie teased as she interlocked her arm with his, Mike shrugging sadly.

"Dustin and Lucas invited her huh?"

"Yup." she popped the 'p' and gave Mike an annoying grin. Mike shook his head, a smile tugging a his lips as he looked over at the short girl.

"cheer up Wheeler!" she interlocked their fingers now and tug him along as she skipped.

"do you guys agree to this?" Mike whispered when he and Valerie had caught up with Will. Will moved his camera to pointing down as he looked over at Mike with confusion.

"what?" will whispered back.

"to her joining our party," Mike gestured to Max who chatted happily with Lucas and Dustin, completely unaware to the conversation happening behind her.

"it's just for halloween," Will pointed out in hopes it would calm Mike, but he seemed to irritated.

"you should have checked with me first."

Valerie nearly choked on her chocolate bar as she looked over at Mike. she was wondering if she should smack him then and there but decided against it and looked over at Will who walked alongside her innocently. if they had asked Mike, he would instantly blown the idea off so no wonder they hadn't.

"they seemed excited and i guess I thought you would be okay with it," Will smiled softly when Valerie handed him the rest of her chocolate. he thought that maybe if he had mentioned Lucas and Dustin were happy then maybe Mike would let it go, but of course that wasn't how Mike was.

"she's ruining the best night of the year," Mike mumbled before storming off. Will and Valerie shared a look and she rested a hand on his shoulder.

"i'll go sort him out," she giggled and Will nodded, taking another bite of her chocolate before handing back. she taken the chocolate back and hurried after Mike.

she caught up to Mike rather quickly and thrown her arm over his shoulder when she did. Mike went to push her arm off but froze when he realized it was her. "alright Micheal, what's up?" Mike simply shook her head and Valerie laughed at this. she paused in her steps and turned to him. "alright wheeler, loosen up."

Mike and Valerie fell into silence after that, walking alongside each other until Mike stopped in his tracks and turned to her.

"where's Will?"

They sent each panicked looks before splitting off from each other to run in different directions. "Will!" Valerie shouted, cupping her mouth to make her voice travel farther. people who were passing by glared at her but didn't say anything. "mike!" she now shouted realizing she was alone.

suddenly the whole atmosphere changed. it was Hawkins but only this time cold, dark, and scary. no, terrifying. she was absolutely alone, and could have swore she saw movement up ahead. it happened to look like Will.

"Will!" she shouted and the figured stopped.

when it turned around, Will was staring at her with the same fear she held. the two broke the distance by running to one another and wrapping each other in their arms.

"Valerie how- how are you here?!" Will shouted frantically as the two ran towards a house and couched down, hiding from whatever was out there growling at them.

"i don't know, Mike and I were looking for you and the next I knew, I was here," she used her hands to show around them like Will hadn't known where they were.

Will was trembling with fear, and taken one of her hands into his. together they sat there, scared, and prayed to go back to real Hawkins.

"Will! Valerie!"

"Will, Valerie, wake up!"

suddenly in a blink of an eye, Valerie was alone. Will was no longer beside her. she shaken with fear, tugging her knees to her chest as she stared ahead.

"Valerie! Wake up!"

Valerie rose to her feet, her arms still around herself as she walked into the grass. her friends screaming her name silenced, and she was officially alone. nobody but herself.

"Mike!" she cried out.

"Mike oh my god help me!"

she shut her eyes tightly and when she opened them, Mike and Will were in front of her. gasping she gripped onto their arms and with their help, she stood on her feet.

Dustin, Lucas and Max stared at them as Will held onto Mike and held onto Valerie. the three walked off, Dustin trying to help but Mike shrugged him off. "i got them."

"mike.."

"keep trick or treating, I'm bored anyways."

Valerie stood in the bathroom in the Wheelers basement, staring at her reflection. she could faintly hear Will explaining everything to Mike.

she only ended up leaving the bathroom when she heard Will agreeing with mike to going crazy together. she leaned against the doorframe and their eyes shot up to her.

"i second that," she softly smiled at them and Mike patted the space between Will and him.

she taken the seat and the three of them shared a hug. it only lasted for a few seconds seeing how Jonathan interrupted it by walking down the basement steps. "hey will, ready to go?"

Will nodded and stood up, stuffing candy into his bag. he made sure to leave some for the other two before smiling at them. "see you guys later," he said softly before following his brother up the steps.

"see you." mike mumbled.
