CHAPTER FOUR: HOLLY JOLLY

the four friends walked the train tracks. Valerie decided to put distance between mike and her by walking with Lucas and Dustin in the front. it didn't stop her from looking back at Mike who walked with Eleven. Valerie just wanted to find Will so she had someone to hug and vent to. Eleven was supposed to be helping the group by finding him.

however she did the opposite. after hours of walking Eleven brought them to the Byers residence. the four were confused, staring at her expecting her to explain as to why they were brought here. he was missing from here.

"what are we doing here?" Lucas questioned as he looked between Eleven and Mike, gripping his bike at his side.

"she said he's hiding.." mike said with a nod. that just seemed to make Lucas more mad.

"um no!" Lucas shouted as Maryland facepalmed with a groan. Mike looked at her, his face slightly falling.

"i swear if we walked all the way-" dustin spoke up, growing mad like the two beside him.

"that's exactly what we did! i told you she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about!" Lucas shouted as he thrown his hands up.

Valerie looked over at El, sighing as she stepped forward. "El. why did you bring us here? this is his home.." she asked in a low voice while El only stared at her so she switched her eyes to Mike.

"why did you bring us here El?" Mike asked, now Eleven only stuttered which clearly made them more annoyed.

"don't waste your time with her." Lucas told him for the hundredth time. Mike only stared at him.

"what did you want to do then?" Mike questioned defensively.

Valerie looked between Lucas, El, and Dustin before stepping forward and opening her mouth. "mike you are so clueless! you are risking everything to protect her at this point! clearly she doesn't know what she's talking about! i mean look around, do you see Will anywhere?! no!" Valerie shouted causing all the eyes in the group to widen. Mike was shocked the most before he argued back.

"Valerie you cant say anything! you literally just sit around!" he insulted which caused Valerie to choke down a sob and walk over to Lucas who held his hand out for her.

"she's right we should have called the cops." Lucas agreed, taking Valerie's side in things.

"hey guys.." dustin spoke up which was ignored as the group continued to ignore. Valerie holding onto Lucas arm, as if she needed him to stay grounded.

"no! she's just being a bitch for no reason!"

"Fuck you wheeler! unlike you i didn't put all my trust in some girl he just met and pushed his other friends away! at this point i'm only deal with her because I want Will to be back!"

"guys!" Dustin shouted, earning the groups attention as they looked over at all the cars flying by.

sirens echoed the air, filling Valerie's ears. they were getting louder by the minute. the argument stopped as all the friends watch cops and ambulance pass by.

"will.." breathed out Mike and Valerie.

scattering the friends all rush to their bikes. Eleven hopping on the back of Mike's bike. desperately trying to keep up, Valerie heart pounded against her chest with worry.
