-3 Days Later
"Have a good weekend everyone. Remember I need your missing assignments in by next week," Mr. Reed announced. I hurried out of class. "Eden Armstrong! Stop right there." Shit.
"Yes Mr. Reed?" I ask, plastering a fake grin on my face.
"Don't give me that fake look," he glares. "You're missing a lot of work."
"I know, and I'll get them done. I promise."
"You know, promises are more likely to be broken than kept?"
"Is that so?" I ask.
"Yes. Yes it is. Get them turned in before you guys go on break or you won't be able to go on that trip next year."
"I will. I'm just really stressed. Between work, my other classes, and summer being just around the corner, it's hard to keep everything straight."
"You're twenty years old. I'm sure you'll figure it out," he says and nods towards the door. I groaned loudly, making sure he could hear.
*
I was walking towards my work, when I heard loud laughing. I look at the direction it was coming from and saw two figures, walking out of the cinema. I rolled my eyes and walked towards the door of the bar. "Excuse me miss?" an older voice asked. I turned and saw an old lady standing near me.
"Yes?" I ask, politely.
"I dropped my purse, could you pick it up? My back isn't cut out for that kind of stuff anymore."
"Sure," I smile and hand the bag to her. I turn to the entrance, but slam into someone else.
"O-oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," I rush out.
"Hey no worries. No harm done." I look up at the guy I bumped into. "Hey! It's you again," He exclaims.
"Yeah, it's me," I awkwardly look around.
"Carly this is my friend..."
"Eden," I finish for him and stick out my hand.
"Eden. What a beautiful name," Carly smiles.
"Oh," I blush from the attention, "thanks."
"Well I better get going, thanks for dinner Harry," Carly flirts.
"Anytime," he grins. "See you on Monday." Carly walks away and Harry turns to me. "You Eden, are a genius!" He exclaims and picks me up in a big hug.
"Thank you?"
"Your plan. It worked. I have another date with Carly next weekend."
"That's great," I lightly smile. "Oh and I have your wallet by the way."
"So that's where I left it. Here, I'll just come inside," he suggests. I nod and open the door. The place is already extremely crowded. It was Friday night, so I expected as much.
"Hold on," I say. "I'll go get it out of the bin." He nods and walks over to the bar to order a drink. I hurry to the back of the bar, pushing pass the massive crowds of people.
I take off my jacket and hang up my purse. I tied an apron around my waist and grabbed Harry's wallet out of the bin.
I walked back into the room and saw Harry sitting at the bar, with a drink in front of him. He was just looking around, minding his own business. I took this moment to admire his features from a distance. He was quite beautiful. Carly is a very lucky girl.
I crouched down behind the counter and popped up right in front of him. He jumps at the sight of me, nearly knocking over his drink.
"Surprise!"
"Jesus, you scared me."
"That was my intent. Here's your wallet by the way."
"Thanks," he says and slides it into his back pocket. "I should get going," he says, "I've had a long week, but what's your number? We can go get lunch or something sometime."
"Yeah I'd like that," we exchange numbers and I wanted to smack myself across the face, when I thought the reason he was asking for my number was because he liked me too.
A/N: This is just kind of a filler. Sorry I haven't been updating more. School is just crazy and stressful. I'll start updating a lot more, when summer starts in 5 weeks. Also, I added a cast list. Not all the characters have been introduced yet, but they will be soon. Until next time :)
