Eden's POV
I had been staring at my phone for the past three hours. His number was waiting to be called.
It was quiet in my apartment, but the voices in my head were screaming. "God I wish someone would press this button for me," I groan aloud.
After staring at it a while longer, I pressed 'call.' I took in a deep breath, bringing the phone to my ear.
The phone rang, and I counted how long it took before he answered. Three rings. "Hello?" A familiar, British accent talks through the receiver.
"Hi," I begin.
"Excuse me one second," he says. I hear muffled cries of a baby, and Harry trying to calm him down. "Sorry. I have a little one here." I smile to myself.
"It's perfectly fine."
"May I ask who's calling?"
"This is Eden. Eden Armstrong." I could hear him take in a sharp breath.
"Eden," he breathes. "H-how did you get my number?" He asks.
"I bumped into Niall in Time Square. We went out for coffee a few days later, and he told me you had been missing me," I smile.
"What were you and Niall doing in New York?" Harry asks.
"I live here, and Niall was on vacation."
"You moved back to New York? When?"
"A few years ago. I moved back, with my family."
"You found your family? Eden that's amazing."
"Thanks. It's been really good. I heard you have a son now."
"I do," he sighs. "It's been hard, but we are making it work."
We stay silent for a few moments.
"I'm so sorry Harry, for everything that's happened to you and for not being there."
"Hey, hey. This was our decision. We needed a healthy change. Would you regret the things that've happened to you since we meet ten years ago?"
"I suppose not. Doesn't mean I didn't wish we spoke more."
"Me and you both," he chuckles. "So tell me. What have the past eight years of your life been like?" Harry asks.
"How much time do you have?"
"For you? As long as you need."

So we talked for hours. Nothing was left unsaid. We spoke of our love lives, our careers, our families, and everything in between.
"I miss you, Eden," Harry says. "I think about you all the time."
"You do?"
"Of course."
"D-do you think you'll ever be with someone, after Julia?" I ask.
"Hold up. We just started talking today," he laughs. "But in all seriousness, yes. I want to be in love again, I want a family, I want more kids. I want Jake to have a mother figure. I know Julia would want me to find someone else, too. How about you?"
"I don't know," I sigh. "I'm not getting any younger."
"I'm almost 35 years old," he chuckles.
"We're so old."
"Remember when you were twenty and working at that bar, and I came up to you, only twenty four, and asked for advice with taking out Carly."
"That was where we first met," I chuckle. "God it feels so long ago."
"My whole life has changed, since then. So has yours I suppose."
"Yeah. Never did I ever think I'd find my family."
"And yet you did. I guess that goes to show that anything is truly possible."
We talked longer, I watched as time passed. It went from light to dark outside. I yawned to myself. "I think this has been the longest phone call in history."
"I know right. I'm surprised Jake hasn't been acting up. I should probably go."
"Yeah," I sigh, "me too."
"I liked hearing your voice, Eden. It made me entire month," he chuckles.
"Mine too."
"Can we maybe not wait eight years before we talk again? I quite enjoy talking to you."
"I promise. I won't ever let that happen again."
"Good." I could hear him smile. "Come visit me sometime. California is an exciting place."
"I'm sure it is, and I will definitely make time to come see you."
"You better. I kinda haven't seen you in eight years," he laughs, but you could tell he missed me. I missed him, too.
"I'll call you later this week," I nod, knowing I would fulfill that promise.
"I'll be waiting." He pauses, before speaking again. "I-um-I love you, Eden."
A smile breaks out on my face.
"I love you too, Harry."
