A Healthy Distraction

Another normal day in Paris. Well, at least not for Adrien, who woke up at the sound of his alarm. He picked up his phone and looked at the screen. He dismissed the alarm with a sigh and laid back on his bed with his hands on his face.

I completely forget about this. He thought.

A while later Nathalie knocked on the door.

"Adrien. Are you up yet?" She asked from the other side.

"Yes. I'm up." He replied after removing his hands.

"If you want to talk-"

"I'll be fine Nathalie. Thank you." He said immediately as he didn't really want to talk about it. No response came from her. Adrien figured she left. He got up and got greeted by his kwami. Surprised by his gesture Adrien greeted back.

Plagg knew what day it was and what it meant to Adrien, so didn't want to be annoying, not even to get any cheese, because he cares about his owner, but didn't want to show it to anyone.

Adrien finished getting ready and went to eat his breakfast. He sat at the table and Nathalie showed on his side. She gave him the tablet that had his schedule for the day. Yes, he retired from modelling but he enjoyed fencing and Chinese, so he kept those.

"You know." Nathalie started. "What you need is a healthy distraction."

A distraction you say? He thought.

"That's not a bad idea." Seriously his mood that day wasn't the best. But it all changed when he noticed Marinette entering the room.

"Oh hey. Finally found the dining room."

"Marinette? What are you doing here?"

"Just visiting my boyfriend." She took a seat beside him. She put her elbows on the table and rested her chin on the back of her hands. She moved closer to him. "Is there a problem Mr?"

"No, not at all." He kissed her on the cheek. "Care for a bite?"

"No thanks. I ate before I came." Nathalie had noticed the change in Adrien's mood once Marinette entered. This girl truly had an effect on him. Adrien gave Nathalie the tablet.

"Thanks, Nathalie-" His phone buzzed. It was his alarm again.

Now shut up will you?

He quickly turned it off. But it was enough to grab Marinette's attention.

"What's that?"

"It's really nothing." His bad mood returned again.

So he didn't tell her? Nathalie thought. She excused herself to leave the couple some space.

"So do you have any plans for today?" Marinette asked.

"No. I guess not. I just have fencing after school."

"Ok, how about you come after that and spend the night over at my place. We could watch movies and play video games. I could also invite Nino and Alya."

Maybe that's what I need. A distraction.

"So what do you say?" She asked snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Ye-yeah."

"Are you ok? Something is bothering you."

"No, I'm just a bit tired."

"You sure?"

"Yeah." He put his hand on hers. "Don't worry I'll be fine. As long as you're with me."

"No wonder I fell for you. Come on we're going to be late for school." After packing their stuff they went to school together.
