'I don't understand why she can't tell us?' May had gone for a shower and we've taken the time to work out a game plan. Brian was getting angry and so I'm making everybody a cup of tea.
'Maybe it's a "girl problem"', I didn't see who said this but whoever did's point was lost, Joe came in, 'I checked, no missing people called May.'
'So she gave us a fake name?' Why would she give a fake name? It makes no sense.
'I'm not a missing person because no one is missing me,' May stepped out of the bathroom in a cloud of steam that smelled like men's body wash and clothes that really didn't fit her. She had a solemn look on her face but I couldn't help but smile about how silly she looked in my shirt with a pair of jeans that were held up by my belt, she'd obviously had to stick a hole in because my guess is she'd never had a decent meal in her life.
'What are you smiling at?' She scowled.
My smile became a chuckle, 'those clothes re-really don't fit you.'
She looked down at her rolled up sleeves and Jean bottoms, 'I'll pay you for these,' her face turned grey, 'when I have money.'
'Don't worry, we'll get the girls to take you shopping, they came with us for the hen party. We can get you some decent clothes, you know that fit'
'Why would you do that for me?'
'I'd like to think if I was in the situation where I needed help, someone would help me.' I felt her getting awkward, she was obviously new to letting other people help her, 'plus I can't keep a straight face with you in those clothes.'
She smiled a little, only for a second and not more than a twitch but it was nice.
'Will you go?'
She bit her lip and shut her eyes but nodded.
'I'll call the girls'
