YOUR HOUSE WAS quiet as you walked through the front door, kicking off your shoes and placing them in a white shoe cubby by your door.

You heard the air conditioner softly kick on, cool air flowing out of the vents on the top of your walls and on your floors.

The house was spacious, very spacious at that. The house gave you a reminder of a modern cottage mansion. It was more of a manor than anything, really.

The people that used to own it were a gay couple in their mid-sixties, deeply in-love and wanting to live further away from the city. Which, was understandable because people sucked in this neighborhood.

They had designed and built it themselves when they got married, adding to its home-like nature. The house was a two-story one, with dark grey bricks and a black roof that decorated the outside of the house. Parts of the roof were white with black diagonal lines that stretched vertically and a few that curved and connected to the sides.

A large black chimney decorated the top of the house, which occasionally had smoke coming out of it during winter because you always found it festive.

The inside gave a cabin-like feel to the place, making it a lot cozier than what you saw in the pictures. Archways hung above the entrance of the front door, and then the entry of the kitchen.

Your furniture matched the outside and the inside of the house, going perfectly with the walls and the objects that you bestowed upon your rooms.

You had multiple guest rooms, and of course, your room. Bathrooms were located across the house in the upstairs and the downstairs, as well as the basement, which had a pool table and several arcade machines for friendly get-togethers.

You obviously hosted the most events at your place in your friend group, earning the role "Party Planner/Host" and the role of "Therapist".

Meaning, you were very important.

Even if you had little friends, you were fine with that. You didn't want multiple friends since they could easily want you for just the money and power. Which is why you liked the few you had now.

You'd rather have a few best friends than one hundred fake ones.

It felt good to be back in your house, free from the bass-thumping floor and walls. Away from the chaotic people and drama that flowed through your life like traffic on the weekends.

Your hardwood floors were cold and the coldness pricked your skin when your feet touched the ground, goosebumps becoming more pronounced.

You walked down the hallway, the floor creaking beneath you as you walked, giving nostalgia when you tried to sneak out of your house when you were a teenager.

The halls were decorated with family photos of you, your mom, and your step-dad, all holding each other and smiling until your cheeks hurt.

Memories flooded through your brain as you glanced at them, smiling softly at the past and reminiscing as you made your way to your bedroom door.

A soft draft of breeze covered your body as you stepped in, your body finally at ease from being in the own comfort of your home.

Earlier, when you were at Maki's house, you stayed a bit later after comforting her, making sure that you helped her clean up, despite her protests.

You both talked and got to know each other a bit more, finding out that you two had shared the same classes and teachers, to which, you felt embarrassed and ashamed since you didn't even notice her.

After several conversations and a couple hours later, you said you needed to head home since you needed to shower and change.

Maki didn't protest at that and helped you gather your belongings and saw you out the door. You managed to call an Uber, despite Maki saying she could take you.

You didn't want to be a burden and declined her offer several times before she understood and said goodbye to you.

You both exchanged numbers, hoping to schedule a time and day for your date. Both of you were clearly excited.

On your Uber ride home, you couldn't help but replay last night in your head, allowing yourself to daydream while being taken to your house by a complete stranger.

You took off your purse, took out your phone, and turned it on, showing a lock screen picture of you, Nobara, Yuji, and Megumi all holding peace signs at a club.

You immediately went to your contacts, sending Maki a text to let her know you were home and safe.

you
got home safely
thank you for everything
especially last night x

Not even a few minutes later, did Maki respond.

maki <3
that's good
and it's no problem
i had fun too, sweetheart x

You felt a smile reach your face and you giggled slightly, feeling like a schoolgirl when her crush texts or talks to her.

you
let me know when you're free
just pick a date and time
i'll make it work ;)

You pulled your curtains of your room completely closed, making your room go slightly dark. You turned on the LED lights from the remote on your wooden gray nightstand, illuminating your room with f/c colors. You took off Maki's shirt, placing it in the dirty laundry basket, along with your dress, bra, and undergarments.

Your phone buzzed on your bed, asking you to walk over and pick it up. The phone showed that Maki had texted you.

maki <3
glad i have that privilege
i'll let you know when i find my new schedule for modeling and such
don't worry, i won't keep you waiting forever ;)

That made you laugh slightly and shake your head, your thumbs typing your next text.

maki <3
