Summary: When Y/n sees the value of something she notices how much she really means to Rafe.

I've been secretly dating Rafe for about 6 months now. We were the „perfect" couple in our eyes but no one, absolutely no one knew about us. Sometimes it was kinda difficult to hide from the eyes from both our friendgroups but it always worked somehow.

I think it was two months ago that Rafe took me out to the mainland to get food and spend the time together and when he gave me to gifts that meant the whole world for me.

He gave me a matching signet ring but the side was decorated with a flower pattern that looked nearly like his, it was just way smaller. And then he gave me a necklace with my first letter on it. But the special thing about this necklace was that when I turn it around there was a little „Rafe" carved into the back. You could only see it when you look very closely but that was perfect bacause when JJ or Kiara would see that they would go fucking mental.

When I wore the pieces the first time they asked me where I got them and i told them my mom bought them for me because she liked the designs. Luckily they all bought it and since that day I wore that ring and the necklace every day.

„Okay so I have my fake ID but the worker of the shop already knows me so he won't give us the alcohol and I don't want to sip water for the whole night." JJ sighed looking between our group that sat in the chateau.

„Mine won't work too, since my dad disappeared everyone on the cut knows me." John B told us.

„I'm not gonna risk anything I'm out!" pope said holding his hands up as if someone was pointing a gun at his head.

„Kie what about you?" John B asked.

„Are y'all kidding me?" As is already told you like a thousands of times, I won't do it. Mom and dad buy some ingredients from this store.

„God okay, okay I'll do it!" I told them.

„You sure?" JJ asked.

„Totally, what should happen? I have nothing to lose." I shrugged.

As we arrived at the store I got out of the car and went into the shop grabbing some white claws, Mai tai's and a bottle of tequila.

„I'd like to see your ID please ma'am." the cashier told me.

I pulled out my ID and handed it to him.

He quickly overruled it and gave it back to me.

„That'll be 43,61 dollars please."

I gave him the money and bid my goodbye before going outside to the car and putting the stuff into the trunk.

„Y/n come here!" Kie shouted over to me.

„Give me your ring."

I took off my ring hesitantly and handed it to her. She held it next to one that looked very similar to mine.

„What the fuck, THAT'S YOUR RING!" Kie shouted and my face fell as I looked at the price tag.

„How did your mom afforded that?" she asked me.

Since I was a pogue it was low obvious my mom didn't bought me the ring since it cost over 600 dollars.

„I- I don't know." I told her, my heart thumping like hell inside my chest.

„Hmm strange..." she said before putting it back and giving me my ring before taking my hand and leading me back out to the van.

The next morning I woke up, my head was thumping and I felt the alcohol from the night before.

I made my way out of John B's guest room and went into the kitchen where I was greeted by the rest of the group.

„Good morn-„ I cut myself off as I saw JJ twirl my ring in between his fingers.

„Y/n where did you really got this ring from? There is no way your mom buys you something that expensive just for fun." JJ questioned looking into my eyes.

„Why would you care?" I asked him rolling my eyes before grabbing my ring from his hand and sliding it over my ring finger.

„Are you dating someone? Maybe even a kook? Because it's difficult to find a pogue that can afford something like that."

„Y/n just tell us, we won't be mad, it's not like it's topper or even worse Rafe." she joked eliciting laughter from the rest.

I let my head hang low knowing there was no way out of this anymore. I raised my head again looking deep into her eyes before turning around and placing my face in my hands.

„No, NO! Don't tell me it's Rafe, Y/n, I am serious." Kiara warned me.

I looked at her, guilt painting my face before speaking up.

„It's Rafe, im so sorry love just rolled in and I couldn't do anything against-„ I was cut off by JJ raising from the couch.

„No, tell me this is a joke, it's a joke RIGHT?" JJ screamed panic settling in his chest.

„It isn't a joke I really like him okay?" I told him my voice some octaves lower than usually.

Now John B spoke up, „You know what he did to us right? Y/n right?"

„Yes I do, but he's seriously different around me, he's not smug, annoying or mean. He's nice and sweet and caring..." I told them my voice trailing off at the understanding look on popes face that I couldn't really sort into this situation.

„I mean I hate Rafe just as you all do, but when Y/n likes him it her decision." pope chimed in and I gave him a thanking look.

„Pope did you forget that he beat you up once? With a fucking golf club man!" JJ shouted at him.

Pope shrugged and went to sit next to me.

„Pope's right, it's y/n's life, Body and decision." Kiara said sighing.

„Buuuuu-„

„No <buts> JJ, I hate him too, he's annoying, cocky, selfish and shit bit as I already said it's her decision, not ours, not at all." Kiara stated looking him dead in the eye.

„Okay, okay, but when he hurts you I'll kick his ass." JJ warned and I giggled.

„Okay JJ I can live with that." I told him.

„And, he's not joining the pogues that's too far." JJ added proudly.

„Okay, that wasn't planned anyways. I told him.
