-there will be two endings to this. Both in this chapter-

TW: suicide,overdose.
Just a lot of sadness really.

Steve pov:

Me and Eddie were cuddling in his room. He was on my chest trying to calm down from the panic attack he just had while I played with his hair. He would never admit it but he loved it when I did.
Lately the bullying had been getting into his head. He was never affected by the disgusting things people said about him,or at least never showed it. Usually it was just name calling like 'freak' or making fun of him because he played d&d but for the past few weeks Jason and pretty much most of the school was getting under his skin. They kept commenting on his weight and telling him to end his life how he ended Chrissy's. Even tho his name was cleared people still thought he did it and It broke him. He loved Chrissy so much. Everything was just getting so much worse for him,I was starting to get really worried about him.

"Ed's. You okay?"
"Yeah..I'm fine" he says clearly lying,but I had to get to work otherwise Robin would kill me
"I need to go to work love,but I promise when I get back we can watch horror movies and I can do your hair. Anything you want,okay?"
He sits up and wipes his tears before turning to look at me
"Yeah,you go to work. I'll see you later"
I quickly kissed him before getting up to leave. I wore the denim vest he let me keep from when we were in the upside down and left for work. When I got there Robin immediately walked up to me.
"You're an hour late!" She exclaims
"Sorry,I just had to take care of something" I say walking past her
"Eddie again?"
I turn around and sigh
"His panic attacks are getting worse,Rob. I couldn't just leave him to deal with it by himself"
"God,I feel so bad for him" she says stepping closer
"So do I,it's hard seeing him like this"
I turn back around and pick up a box of tapes.
"Anyway,we should get to work" I say changing the subject. Robin nodded at me and we got to work,serving customers.

After my shift ended, I drove to Eddies trailer and knocked. No one answered so I knocked again until Wayne,eddies uncle,opened the door.
"hi Mr.Munson. I know it's a bit late but me and Eddie were going to have a movie night" I slowed down my words and gave him a worried look as tears filled his eyes
"Eddies not here boy"
"Where is he?"
"He's uh..He's in the hospital"
"...what?" I ask quietly
"He overdosed..tried to take his own life, about an hour after you left"
Tears filled my eyes
"H-He's alive right?" I ask,my voice cracking and tears falling.
"I don't know yet,the hospital said they'd call. I-I was just about to call you..he left this on his bed"
He handed me three pieces of paper that was folded and had names on. One said 'Steve' the other said 'Dustin' and the third said 'the group' I took them and put it in my pocket,looking down as tears fell quicker. I got into my car and drove off. I needed someone right now. I went to Nancy's house and started knocking on the door repeatedly as more and more tears covered my face. Mike answered looking at me worried
"Steve? A-Are you okay?" He asks clearly worried
"I-Is Nancy here..a-and Robin?" I ask.
"Yeah,come in"
He lets me in and I just stand next to him as he shouted
"Nancy! Come here!!"
Nancy came down the stairs
"What Mike?" She asks but stopped in her tracks when she saw me. Robin followed closely behind and looked at me shocked
"Steve! What's wrong?" Robin asks running down towards me
"E-Eddie-he-I can't"
She hugged me as Nancy joined the hug
"It's okay,calm down" She said "Mike go get him water" she added. They brought me over to the couch and Mike handed me a glass of water. I took it from him and took a sip before putting it down on the table in front of me.
"Okay,what happened. Talk slowly" Robin asks rubbing my back
"I-I went to Eddies...to h-hang out" I stuttered
"Yeah,you said you were having a movie night" Robin said
"Wayne answered and to-told me th-that-" I got cut off by my breathe hitching
"It's okay,take your time"
"He said th-that..he's
in hospital"
I started crying harder and Robin hugged me again
"My god,what happened" Nancy asked
"He tr-tried taking his o-own life" I could feel robins tears on my shoulder
"h-he overdosed. An-And I don't know wh-what to do" my voice began to crack again as I hugged Robin tighter who was also crying. Mike was crying as well and joined the hug.
A while later I had calmed down. Nancy called dustin and told him to come over to hers and we told him what happened. He was a wreck as well. I gave him one of the 3 folded pieces of paper that had his name on it. Eventually Wayne called asking if I was there and told me that I should go to the hospital. I took Robin and Dustin,Mike and Nancy said they'd catch up later.
