Not Helping Aphrodite

Chapter Nineteen

Penny pov.

This will be fun! Except when you're the butt of the joke, I shuddered thinking about the last time. Leo had said something stupid (that I can't even remember what he said) but it pissed off the girls. So they demanded that one of us guys  to have a full drag make-over, inclading a leg, chest (if needed) and underearm wax. But they wanted us to decide who would get the honour.  So Frank, Jason, Leo and I played three games of go fish and the loser was the candidate. It was Frank vs. me and Jason vs. Leo.  Frank and Jason won the first and second games then Leo and I played which Leo won. So I ended up waxed, wearing a baby blue mini dress and neutral make-up. Which I thought looked really good on me.

I do hope something similar happens again but this time it's Leo that get a drag make-over.

Once we get to the Zeus cabin, I look around and stared at the statue for a minute before asking: 'Is Zeus the god of egos as well?'

Everyone had different reactions to my question. Leo started sniggering. Hazel, Frank and Annabeth looked a little uncomfortable.  Piper looked slightly horrified. Nico had a kind of look that said: "he should be". And Jason just looked embarrassed.

'No, he's not . . .'  Jason started but Leo cut him off.

'But some say he would be good as the god of drama.'

'Leo!'  Frank and Jason exclaimed.

'What!? I'm not making it up! Percy told me his dad said that!' Leo defended himself.

'That maybe so.' Annabeth started. 'But I wouldn't believe everything he say about his father. You know what a seaweed brian he is.'

I nearly shouted "hey" at Annabeth who kept glancing at me with a smug smirk on her face. And that made me realise she was trying to provoke me into speaking and proving who I really was, which wasn't going to happen at least not yet.

'Anyway,' I smiled. 'What should we do now?'

'How about a game?' Jason suggested. 

And so we played Monopoly which Annabeth won obviously.

After the game Leo pulled a little jar filled with paper out of his tool-belt.

'In this jar there are twenty-four questions, we're going to take it in turns to take a question and ask the group.' Leo grinned. 'Penny since you're new, you can go first. '

'Okay.' I grinned back, I took one and read  a loud: ' Name your birthday?' 

I knew I couldn't say my really birthday so I decided to say my grandmother's.

'Mine's the 14th of December.'  I said with a smile.

'The 12th of July.' Annabeth said.

'The 3rd of June.' Piper answered.

'The 5th of June.'  Frank said.

'The 7th of July.' Leo grinned. 

'Mine is the 17th of September.'  Hazel smiled.

'Mine is the 28th of January.' Nico said.

'And mine is the 1st of July.' Jason smiled.

Annabeth took the next piece of paper and readed: 'Name  your favourite colour?' 

'Easy, mine is grey.' Annabeth answered. 'Like my eyes.'

'Light purple.' Piper smiled.

'Orange.' Frank said.

'Firey red.' Leo grinned making a little fire in his hand.

'Dark purple.' Hazel said playing a dark purple gem in her hands.
