Not Helping Aphrodite

Chapter 13

Penny pov

I waited about 20 minutes before hearing for the Athena cabin's shed. Where I know all the weapons would be or at least the weapons that would not be good enough for capture the flag. Once I got there I had a look around found found a blunt knife that I would be useless unless used by a skilled fighter like the Athena kids or Aries kids. Trying it's weight in my hand and I realised that it was nearly as balanced as riptide was so I choose it. I looked at to see if it had a name and I didn't see one so I gave it a name I choose Amphitrite in honour of my step mother. I managed to shake it into a usable weapon. Once done I left the shed and went into the wood.

I knew the game had just started so I glance around looking for anyone, Jason in particular. I soon found him "He is probably scouting out for the red flag." I thought as I saw he was wearing a blue helmet. As I walked toward him which was probably a foolish move I will admit. Several twigs snapped quite loudly under my feet making Jason turn around and he might have charged me if he hadn't recognised me.

Switch point of view to Jason

I was scouting around, looking when I heard twigs snapping and I knew it was from a human so I flipped around ready to fight and I saw Penny standing there with a dagger in her hand. When did you get that?

'What are you doing?' I asked worried and alarmed. 'This is a dangerous game you really hurt.'

The reply I got was a simple: 'I can look after myself. Don't worry about me. I'm guessing you're looking for something?'

'Yeah.' I said taking back. 'I'm looking for the red teams flag. '

'Oh! I spotted something wavy and red or might been a flag it's this way.' She she said, grabbing my hand and pulling me to Zeus knows where.

After about three minutes of walking Penny stopped and pointed at something in the distance.

'It that what you want?' She asked a smirk on her face.

I looked again and realise I was looking at the red team's flat.

'Yeah it is. But I can't just go out and get it there will be at least two people guarding the flag.' I said.

' okay who is on the opposite team? Which cabin?' I said.
'Hades, Hermes, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo and Hecate.' I replying wondering what she might have planned.

' so the red team has speed from Hermes , archery from Apollo, well-planning from Athena and probably some magical traps from Hecate. That's a hell of a Team.' Penny said clearly thinking this through. 'What about the kids of Aphrodite and Hades?'

' well my girlfriend Piper is a daughter of Aphrodite but she is also a skilled fighter but siblings not so much.' I said knowing that if any of the Aphrodite kids found out what I said I would wake up with pink hair and my entire wardrobe gone pink too.

'And the kids of Hades?' Penny asked call me back from my pink inducing nightmare.

'Well there is only one son of Hades Nico D'Angelo and he is a good fighter. He have this special ability where he can walk through the shadows and he has a bit of a habit of not being where you expect him to be and he also enjoys sneaking up on you so you never see him coming in to have a poo or grabs your shoulder.' I said remember all the times Nico had snuck up on me just to annoy me.

' and last question who do you thinks guarding the flag?' Penny asked.

' most likely one of the Athena and Apollo kids.' I said praying it wasn't Nico or Annabeth because they can be vicious in this game.

'Okay you get the flag I'll distract them.' Penny said and before I could say another word she had started moving towards the flag with a look on her face that suggested she was lost. I had no choice if I wanted to win this game so I began sneaking around the long way in the hope that what Penny had planned would work.
