Not Helping Aphrodite

Chapter eighteen

Jason pov.

It took me a grand total of forty-five minutes and twenty-four seconds to get everything prepared for tonight which is a new record. Cool

But what to do now?

Just as I wondering that, there was a knock. I opened the door and saw Piper.

'Hey, Pipes. What's up?' I asked.

'I thought we could have our date a bit earlier then planned.' Piper answered.

'Yeah, that sounded like a great idea.' I smiled.

We walked to the lake where Piper had a small blanket with bite size snacks.

We sat down, Piper learning against my shoulder.

'So are you trying to take Percy's job or did he asked you to fill-in?' Piper asked.

Percy was always the first person who made sure any and all new campers were first well-fed, less scared and was started to understand their heritage.

'No, he didn't. But someone's got a do it. Someone that isn't Chiron because he has enough on his plate and especially not Mr D.' I answered. Truthfully I hadn't planned to do anything but there was something about Penny that made me want to do it and I can understand now why Percy dose it.

'You know, one day you and Percy are going to make ridiculously good fathers.' Piper mused.

'W-What!? A-are you pregnant?' I stammers horrified if she was because I knew Aphrodite would skin me alive if Piper was pregnant.

'No, I am not!!' Piper said looking somewhere between very amused and slightly offended. 'But you will make an amazing dad one day. Try ten years down the line.'

Neither of us said anything for awhile as we nibbled on the food Piper had got us. I don't know what Piper was thinking about. But I thinking about what she had said. What would my child look like? I could easily see a little girl with my eyes and Piper's hair and skin colour. And a little boy with Piper's eyes and my hair.

'Yeah.' I said dreamily. 'One day.'

Piper seem amused by my dreaminess. 'Yeah, we see.

We spent the next half an hour eating, talking, cuddling and kissing.!

When the horn for dinner sounded, we headed up to the pillion. As we walked up past the dock, we spotted a figure laying down.

'We should check on whoever that is.' Piper said pulling me towards the lake.

As we approached the figure I realised it was Penny who was fast asleep with her hand in the water.

I reach down to wake her up but Piper grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

'One second.' She said pulling out of her pocket a camera which she had been taking everywhere with her so she could take snaps of the beautiful people and areas of Camp Half-Blood.

She snapped a picture of the sleeping girl.

'Now.' She whispered looking very please with herself.

So again I reached my hand out, placed it gently on Penny's shoulder and began to shake.

'Penny.' I said gently. 'Penny, wake up.'

Slowly Penny opened her eyes.

'Oh Jason, Piper.' She said yawned. 'Is something wrong?'

'No, nothing's wrong. It's dinner time and we thought you needed to wake up.' I answered.

'Thank you for waking me. That's very thoughtful of you by the way.' She smiled sweetly at me.

'That's Jason Grace for you.' Piper smiled happily. 'He almost never thinks of himself.'

'Then you are lucky lady.' Penny grinned at Piper. 'Anyway catch you later.'

And with that she ran off the dining pavilion.

'Okay.' I said a little unsure what had just happen.

'Come on you.' Piper said grabbing my arm and pulling me after Penny.

'She's right, you know.' Piper said after a moment. 'I'm a hell of a lucky lady.'

'And I am a lucky gentleman.' I said feeling very corny.

We both looked at each other and then we cracked up because being cute and corny wasn't really our thing.

Once we reach the dining pavilion, we had to go our separate ways as it was dinner and therefore a formal meal. So Nico and I sat at the Hades' and Zeus' respectively. I looked around and saw Piper at the head of the Aphrodite's table, Annabeth at the Athena table, Leo at the Hephaestus and Penny at the Hermes table.

Hazel, Frank and a couple of other Romans who were staying with us for the summer had set up their own table.

Once the food arrived I loading my plate with a bit of everything like I always do. But mainly with strawberries and honeycomb which father always seems to appreciate the most when I sacrifice them to him. Once I had my plate filled I went up the brazier and threw three quarts of the strawberries and honeycomb in. And thought to myself: "Thank you father for everything and thank you Aphrodite for blessing me with an amazing girlfriend."

I went back to my table and started to eat wondering what antics will happen tonight.

Last time was mad which included Percy as a drug queen.

The time Leo said he would bring toys which has me very worried because knowing Leo it would make a great big mess in my cabin. Whatever it is I hope he bring something to clean up the mess I'm pretty sure will happen. But I have to admit whatever Leo bring I'm sure we all will have a lot of fun.

I was eating the fruit and vegetable because of course I knew I know I would get an overload of jerk food later.

After an hour of dinner it was time for the bonfire or our case to hung out so Annabeth, Leo, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Nico and I continue to sit down with everyone else went to the bonfire.

'Hey Penny.' Piper shouted before Penny could walk away from us. 'You need to wait for us.'

'Oh sorry.' Penny said walking up to the rest of us. 'So where do you usually hang out?'

'We take it in turn it in our cabins.' Leo answered. 'It's Jason's turn which means the Zeus cabin. By the way I'm Leo "the smocking hot" Valdes.'

'Nico to meet you Leo.' Penny smiled.

'Pleased to meet you, I'm Hazel Levesque.' Hazel said holding out her hand. 'And this is my boyfriend Frank Zhang.'

'Hi.' Penny said still smiling.

'Hello. I'm sure we will get know each other.' Frank smiling back.

'And with the introductions out of the way. It's time for fun!' Leo started. 'I'll meet you guys at the Zeus cabin.'

And with that Leo run off, clearly to get his toys, making me feel a little bit of dread in my stomach.

'Well I suppose we should head and make sure we have a big, space to play with whatever Leo got.' Annabeth said sounded somewhere between intrigue and apprehension.

So the seven of us walk down to my cabin ready for a night of fun and mess.
