Not Helping Aphrodite

Chapter 16

Penny pov

I woke up and got ready for the day. I got given a few new clothes from the Aphrodite's girls and some toiletries from the Athena kids.

Once I was dressed, I headed up to the dining Pavilion to have some food.

'Excuse me.'

I looked up and saw Nico di Angelo.

'Yes?' I asked a little nervous.

'I just wanted to say I'm sorry about last night.' He answered. 'Please let me make it up to you.'

'How?' I asked perplexed.

'We have lessons and classes here to help you become a hero including learning to read Greek. I would like to teach you.' Nico said.

'Are you sure? I have ADHD so learning isn't my strong suit.' I said getting a little more comfortable with him.

'You ADHD is your battle reflexes and if you're dyslexic that means your brain is meant to read Greek.' Nico smiled. 'And anyway I like a challenge.'

'Okay but want to apologies in advance because you will get frustrated with me.' I said smiling back.

'Alright then we start after breakfast.' Nico announced.

'Okay.' I replied.

So after we had finish our food, Nico and I sat in the commons and started the lesson. About half an hour into the lesson I could tell Nico was already getting frustrated with me.

'I did say studying was not my strong suit.' I pouted.

'Okay let's try some physical classes.' Nico said.

He took me to the arena and turned to face me.

'Right let's try some hand-to-hand combat.' Nico said.

Five minutes later, I had Nico on his arse.

'Well you're good.' Nico groaned.

'Sorry.' I squeaked.

'It's alright.' He answered before tripping me up and holding his arm against my throat.

Smirking at me, he pulled me up and said: 'Can on, it's time for lunch.'

As we sat down to eat, Jason, Piper and Annabeth joined us.

'Hi Penny.' Jason smiled.

'Hi Jason,' I smiled back. 'hi Piper.' Then I looked at Annabeth. 'I don't believe we're meet yet.'

'Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena.' Annabeth stared proudly holding out her hand which I took. 'So learn anything new today?'

'Well I learned I can read ancient Greek and a bit of Latin. And apparently I can knock guys' on their arses.' I said in my best confused voice.

'No kidding.' Nico muttered, rubbing his side.

'Oh who's teaching you in those lesson?' Annabeth asked.

'Nico is.' I replied.

'Really?' Piper asked looking at Nico in surprise.

'Well yeah, I was a bit hostile to her last night so I figured I could teacher her a few things to make it up to her.' Nico said playing with his silver skull ring.

'Why were you hostile?' Jason asked.

'I thought she was lying about Percy.' Nico admitted awkwardly.

'So did I.' Annabeth said.

'Really.' Jason asked. 'Why?'

'You know I don't trust easily.' Was the only answer Annabeth gave.
