Not So Bad

"Ms. Hu-"

"Alright. First, my name is ___, second, expect me to ignore you if people are around," You tell him calmly, glancing around the empty street.

"Then I would like you to call me Law, ___," He tells you.

"Law.... I like that name..." You comment. He pauses since you're not lying and looks away.

"Thanks," He mutters. "So, Ms. Hu-" He pauses, "Ms. ___," He corrects, letting your name roll off his tongue carefully. "Do you have companions?" He inquires. You throw him a questioning look. "Friends." He clarifies.

"Yeah I have friends, and if you're mean to any of them, I'll have you exorcised," You warn.

"Relax, I have no interest in anyone else but you," He responds simply. You feel yourself blush and your head. He looks at you then, tilting his head, "Your energy just got really warm. How do you feel?" He asks.

"Embarrassed," You answer, it was true, but not the entire truth. Honestly you felt kinda special having such an attractive- er <i>being</i> say that to you. He blinks, observing you carefully as you avoid eye contact before chuckling.

"Not used to hearing such things are you?" He guesses.

"Is it sad that a demon was the first to say something like that to me?" You sigh. He blinks, looking at you for a bit before a frown ghosts his lips.

"Yes, is there something mentally wrong with humans?" He inquires. You look over at him in confusion. "If I am the first to say such a thing to you, then perhaps humans are stupider than I originally thought," He comments, seeming serious. Your eyes widen, another blush creeps onto your cheeks.

"Perhaps," You murmur with a smile and slight giggle. His silver eyes widen briefly as you look away, still smiling a bit.

"Interesting," He rumbles.

"What is?" You ask, looking back at him.

"Your energy is all warm again..." He says. He then frowns, "It's highly uncomfortable," He adds.

"Oh right, demons feed off of negative energy... Sorry, but I'm in a surprisingly good mood today," You tell him. He glances back at you and touches your cheek, making you pause, instantly becoming wary. He relaxes a bit.

"There, that's better," He breathes, retracting his hand. "The fact that you are so wary of me is quite useful."

"I'm not gonna be your personal thermostat Mr. Law," You grumble.

"We'll see about that Ms. ___," He chuckles.

"___!" Luffy calls cheerfully. You smile as you reach the group.

"Hey guys," You greet.

"You're just in time, Usopp is about to set off his trap!" He snickers. You look toward the direction where everyone was looking, the gym door.

"Wait for it..." Usopp breathes getting ready to press the button. The door open and the football team come out led by Eustass Kid.

"Do it," You breathe. Usopp presses the button and suddenly the football team is . hit by numerous water balloons filled with different sauces. The whole team froze.

"Impressive, that's a lot of negative energy," Law comments, reminding you he was there.

"Nicely done Usopp," You chuckle as the whole courtyard fills with laughter. You could see Kid's sauce covered face turn red.
