━─── You stood in front of Souya, and there was awkwardness in the air, at least on his part. Silence settled between you. But it wasn't heavy, just awkward and shy, like the kind that hangs in the air when words hesitate to be born. His eyes kept darting around, as if unsure where to land.
Nahoya, always the gleeful instigator, leaned into his brother's space with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He elbowed Souya squarely in the ribs and grinned at you as if you were both in on the same joke.
"He's single." he announced at your proudly, seemingly finding it completely hilarious that a girl had gotten openly interested at his younger twin. Which is, honestly, had gotten Nahoya excited, and now here he was, fully energized, like a meddling aunt at a family reunion, determined to play matchmaker. "He's also shy, as you can see. Don't let the angry face fool you, he's a crybaby."
"Smiley! Shut up!" Souya shouted, voice cracking with pure horror. The heck is Nahoya doing, saying all this stuff?!
Nahoya laughed, "Look at you. Angry, you're blushing~"
Watching the twins nudge and push at each other, the rest of the group stood there, blinking, caught between secondhand embarrassment and sheer disbelief. How could they take this so easily? There's a literal cutie trying to make an obvious pass on Angry, and instead of responding to her, they ended up squabbling?
"Talk about being smooth." Pah-chin, who has a girlfriend, uttered sarcastically.
"No wonder they've never had lovers." Mitsuya whispered back.
Ryohei nodded in agreement, "But he can't reject her now, right?"
"Huh? Why?" Mitsuya asked, curious.
Ryohei turned to him, gesturing like the answer was obvious. "Because he already took the valentine chocolate!"
"Dumbass, that's not how it works."
Though they tried to whisper, their voices weren't exactly subtle. In the quiet shrine, where only the squabbling twins made noise, their words slipped through the air easily and you heard every bit of it. Your eyes widening as your breath hitched, your mind went blank for a second.
'The chocolate....'
