━─── You didn't expect that both of you were headed to Musashi Shrine, a destination you had planned to visit during your stay in Japan. One reason for your unexpected visit was Keisuke's relentless rambling about it for days, his enthusiasm spilling over like a pot on the verge of boiling. Perhaps he assumed you wouldn't remember, after all, it had been years since he first mentioned it, back when he was just thirteen. But you did remember. The memory clung to you like the faint scent of incense lingering in the air.
"Musashi Shrine..." you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper as your gaze locked onto the approaching sight, your heart quickening with anticipation. The looming structure, silhouetted against the twilight sky, felt imbued with an ancient significance.
Keisuke, ever the reckless driver, caught your words. After all, you had the audacity to rest your chin on his shoulder while he navigated the winding roads with the enthusiasm of a thrill-seeker. Your lips were near his ear, making it impossible for him to miss your soft utterance. He scoffed but couldn't suppress the amused grin that tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"Well, welcome to Toman's Shrine," he declared, a cheeky glint in his eyes.
"Keisuke, don't randomly claim a shrine for your own. Don't you know how much that costs?" You shook your head, a playful frown creasing your brow.
"And how much, exactly?" His voice perked up, feigning innocence, though you knew your cousin well enough to sense the mischief behind his playful tone. If you didn't know better, you would have thought he genuinely considered buying Musashi Shrine, which was utterly impossible.
You let out a low whistle and sighed softly, a hint of mock sorrow lacing your tone, but behind your façade, you couldn't help but roll your eyes. "At least not something you can afford."
"What if I actually manage to—"
"Dream on, Keisuke."
He huffed, a playful pout forming on his lips as he slowed down his bike, expertly maneuvering it into a spot next to a cluster of other motorcycles. The sight of them filled you with curiosity; you assumed they belonged to his gangmates. You looked around, your eyebrow arching at the sheer number of bikes before your gaze settled on a familiar one.
"Hey, isn't that Chifuyu's bike?" you asked, excitement bubbling within you as you pointed to the sleek ride, its polished surface gleaming under the fading light. You had seen it once before when Chifuyu and Keisuke had picked you up from the train station, a reminder of the warmth of that moment.
