Chapter 24

Mrs. Jeon is a determined woman and a mother that will do anything to make her son happy, don't count in the time when she married Jungkook with Yoobi, it was her biggest mistake.

Seeing him suffering it's tormenting, that's why she decided to take matters into her own hands.

She feels ashamed, guilty, and the worst mother in the world.

Facing Chaeyoung was hard for her but here she is in front of her.

She must say that something changed in Chaeyoung... She is glowing...

"I didn't expect to see you there... If this is about the lawsuit I intended against you and your daughter-in-law then, you shouldn't worry I stopped the process... I have more important things now..."

As in more important things Chaeyoung refers to her and her baby's health. A lawsuit will only damage her and she needs to be extra careful right now.

"I came to beg your forgiveness... I was so wrong Chaeyoung... I thought that this way I was protecting my son, that I will make him happy... I am so sorry, please forgive me...", she almost fall to her knees but Chaeyoung stopped her

" What are you doing? Mrs. Jeon, don't do this... I am not that cruel...", she helped her to stand up. Chaeyoung won't let her kneel for forgiveness, the one who should do it is Yoobi.

Jungkook's mother wept, and with pleading eyes and a trembling voice she begged,  "If you want to punish someone, punish me, but please don't push away my son... He is a victim too... Since he lost you I've never seen him smile the same way... Every time he looked at Dal there was sadness in his eyes, even if he was denying it, and all of that only for the sake of Dal..."

Chaeyoung never expected to see his mother like this, vulnerable, she knew that Mrs. Jeon is capable of anything for her son, but to beg her like this, never.

"I know... and I am tired... I just need some time to heal myself...", she tried to escape her pleas 

Chaeyoung chose herself, even if her heart is clenching to be with him. 

"He's sick Chaeyoung, Jungkook is sick and only you can help him..."

Jeon Jungkook is looking like a glooming cloud. All he's doing is work, spending time with Dal, and rushing his divorce process to be done as soon as possible, which is likely to end soon since he found out about Yoobi's deeds.

His face changes its color to a bright one only at the sight of his son.

Why can't he be with Chaeyoung now that they know the truth? He wants to cuddle together on the bed, play with Dal, and spent every minute of their lives as a family, a happy one, as it should be.

Another work day, the usual expression depside the good results they got.

"Jungkook!", it was Taehyung, with his usual smiley face, oh how he envies him right now, he gets to see her every day.

"Yes, Mr. Kim, is there something needed?", he asked with all his seriousness

"Yep! I want to invite you to dinner..."

"I'm sorry, but I will decline...", he's sick of business dinners, he just wants home

"...A my house! Rosie made her signature dish...", he said with a known smirk

Jungkook's face changed in a matter of seconds, did he hear it right? Did Taehyung invite him to their house?

"On a second thought, I can !", he almost threw away his chance to see her

"Great! Oh, take Dal with you, I want to see my nephew!", patting his shoulder Taehyung left first, being proud of himself, Jungkook was so easy.

Jungkook almost forgot that Taehyung is Chaeyoung's brother, of course, he will want to meet Dal.

Standing at the door of Kim's house Jungkook was nervous, he didn't see her since that day, what will she say? What will he say?

"Dad? Why don't you ring the bell?", his son pulled his hand waking him up from his thoughts

The door opened Sangeun welcomed them with a warm smile. He should admit that there's indeed a resemblance with Chaeyoung.

Entering, his eyes run to all the places searching for a specific person.

"Rosie is in the kitchen!", she said knowing exactly who is he searching

On the other hand, Taehyung was eyeing Dal. He wanted to see him the day he found out that he was Chaeyoung's son, he sulked all day when she and his mother didn't let him go over to Jeon's house. 

Chaeyoung came out of the kitchen to invite them to the dinner table. The moment her eyes landed on Jungkook her heart sank, he lost weight and was pale. But then, when he saw her, his eyes lit up, she saw an ocean of love in them.

"Please join us!"

At the table Taehyung made sure to sit next to Dal, he wants to befriend him, and become the best uncle in the world.

As for Chaeyoung and Jungkook, they were sitting across from each other. Jungkook didn't complain, he used to watch her eat like that when they were together. And while Taehyung was giving his attention to Dal, Sangeun was watching how Jungkook was admiring Chaeyoung.

"How is the food Jungkook? Do you like it?", she asked after clearing her throat to gain his attention

Being caught, he diverted his eyes and stuffed his mouth, Chaeyoung was waiting for his reaction.

"It's delicious!", it was heaven for him, he can try her cook again, and it got better, it was perfect

"I am glad", she answered with a smile, "You should eat well, you look tired and lost weight...", for Jungkook her words were like a cure. She cares for him, and that's more than enough to make him smile and finish his food in one go.

Later that night Taehyung knocked on her door and like old times sit on her bed.

"Are you okay Rosie?", he asked worriedly that Jungkook's presence could have affected her in some negative way

"I am good, the baby too..." she smiled, " I see you already charmed Dal"

"Easy! No one can resist me!", he joked, "Dal is an amazing kid, Jungkook raised him right...",

"Yeah, he did a great job, but I still can't call him my son and tell him the truth...", she said sadly thinking about everything she missed

"About Jungkook...", he made a pause, "Do you really don't want to be with him? Can't you give him a chance? I see how you look at each other... Don't think I'm on his side... but, he's a victim too... Don't you think that you're punishing him too much, both of you... You two will soon be parents again... "

" I know Tae... and is so hard to make a decision... I love him so much...", she let out a tear, and Taehyung not being able to see her tears engulfed her in a hug

Taehyung is right Jungkook is suffering just like her, besides, they still haven't told Dal that she's his mother, add in their future child that Jungkook doesn't know about, it's a mess, and she's about to make it worse.

"I am sorry Rosie... Everything will be okay, just don't give up on your love... think about it", he whispered while carresing her back

"I will..."
