Chapter 27

Dal is looking at Chaeyoung and his father who is holding so gently her hand.

Plastered on the sofa in front of him, they were contemplating how to tell him the truth. Which words to use to deliver it in the best way?

"Dal, we want to tell you something important that might shock you... Please, listen to us carefully and try to understand...", Jungkook was the one who gathered enough courage to talk, he felt the grip on his hand tightening, Chaeyoung is nervous

" I already know... "

They looked at him confused, cold rushed through their bodies, did Yoobi told him ahead of them.

"Rosie is my real mom, right?", he asked calmly, and that's scaring them, " Grandma told me about this, she said you two are having a hard time deciding how to deliver it to me...",

Chaeyoung is trying not to cry, she was stressing herself all this time and it happened in a moment. She's a little disappointed cuz she wanted to do it herself, but perhaps Mrs. Jeon made them a favor.

"I must confess... Since you taught me to always tell the truth, I didn't react very well to this news, but then... grandma explained to me the reason..."

Flashback

"Dal, can I talk with you?", his grandmother asked after entering his room. He was playing something on his phone

" Sure!"

Mrs. Jeon smiled and sit down next to him

"You are a smart and understanding kid, I can tell you a secret right?"

"Of course, you can! I am a grown-up, and I know how to keep a secret! Tell me!", he was eager to find out what his grandma is ready to share with him

" Do you want to know who your real mother is? "

He became a little sad, "Ow, I never thought of that... Do you know who it is?", she nodded

" It's your beloved friend Rosie, and her real name is Chaeyoung...",

Dal stopped for a second to process the information, different kind of thoughts and emotion were coming to him

"So that's why my Dad was looking at her like that... Is this the reason he divorced my mom? The reason she was cold towards me?", anger filled his mind and heart, he wanted to know all at once

" Why did she leave me then? Is this the reason she became my friend? To learn her forgiveness? I don't want to see her!!!", tears fell from his big eyes, and he fell on his grandmother's hands calming down his sobs.

"Dal, now listen to me carefully, before you begin to hate someone, Chaeyoung didn't know that you are her son till a month ago and since then she and your father tried to tell you...", wiping away his tears he looked up at her

" She didn't? How it is possible to not know your child?" he asked between hiccups

" When you were born, a bad lady switched you with another baby and told her that she lost you... She made your parents break up... They suffered very much... your mom, Chaeyoung, just found out that you are alive... She would have never left you... Trust me!"

"Is this true? You are not lying, right?", he asked feeling guilty for assuming such bad things about his parents.

Now he understands why Rosie was sad when he asked her about kids, and why she always was looking at others with fondness.

"It's true, I know this news is hard to swallow and it needs time to accept...",

" Why didn't they tell me? Why are you the one doing this? Did they ask you?"

"No, your parents are afraid that it will hurt you, that you won't accept them, and especially her... They are having a very hard time how to tell you the news... That's why I took it as my mission... Give them some time... This way you can think of what you will do too..."

End of the Flashback

Chaeyoung was afraid that he is going to reject her, that he won't accept her as his mother and not even as his friend...

"It's hard for me to call you mom yet... but I still love you! And I am not mad at you!", he finally says, and Chaeyoung's tears escaped her eyes.

For him, she is ready to wait for whatever it takes, as long as she can see him, hold him and be by his side.

" Thank you! ", she leaned towards him taking his hands in his kissing his little palms, " I am sorry for not being there for you, that we lost all this time...",

Jungkook watched them with tears, his son is so thoughtful, and it melts his insides at the sight of his love finally freely holding their son's hand.

"It's not your fault... Now we have all the time for us to catch up on what we have missed... Can I hug you now?", she nodded smiling through her tears, and Dal didn't waste a second before wrapping his hands around her in a tight embrace.

"Dal, be more gentle! Your mom is carrying your little sister or brother...", he said not realizing that he broke another piece of news to him

" Dad! Couldn't you wait until the marriage? Tsk!", he commented jokingly even though he was extremely happy that he is going to be a big brother.

Finally, their lives are getting rewarded for all the tears and suffering, from now on, nothing is going to get in their way... Or it will?
