Chapter 19

"Uhm... did I do something wrong?" Werner asked awkwardly.

"Oh no! I've just been looking into the Tokyo Yuu gang." Naoki started. "They caused an incident the other day."

"Ten years ago, you fought Toyuu as the the leader of Baller Boyz." Naoki finished. Werner's head was angled down, and I couldn't see his eyes. He just silently stared at his lap for a minute.

"I have some ques-" Naoki started, but Werner interrupted him, by slamming his hands on the table, and standing up. However, Naoki was totally unfazed.

"You were involved with Kenji Riki's death." Naoki stated

"I wasn't... I..." Werner uttered. "A member of Baller Boyz stabbed him." Naoki said, looking intently at Werner's distressed figure.

"No..." Werner's voice choked, and he scrunched his fingers. "You ordered them to kill him, didn't you?" Naoki stared into Werner's very soul, with an intelligent look in his eyes.

"No!" Werner protested, and shook his head. He grit his teeth. He sat back down, and covered his face in misery.

"It's true that we fought with Toyuu... but we didn't kill him..." Werner choked. I didn't understand why he was near tears, and that peaked my curiosity.

"That was just the trigger..." Werner said. His behavior seemed to turn a little unhinged.

"After that, Toyuu started having internal conflicts." Werner said.

"What?" I muttered. "And on March 22nd..." Werner paused. "Kenny died."

"It was all apart of his plan..." Werner shivered with fear.

"'His'?" Naoki emphasized, and narrowed his eyes. A minute of silence passed, before Werner's distraught voice finally spoke again.

"I'm sorry, but I can't say any more." Werner said, lifted his palms away from his face, and staring at the table glumly. "I want nothing to do with Toyuu."

Suddenly everyone in the shop shifted. I didn't realize they were all standing still, and silently. Which made me a little anxious for some reason.

A phone buzzed, and I checked my pockets out of habit. My phone wasn't ringing, and I raised my eyebrow at Werner. Werner swiftly took his phone, and answered the call.

There was yelling coming from the other side of the call, despite the call not being on speaker. I felt a pang of sympathy,

As I watched Werner's face turn dispirited, despite him already being quite glum.

"I'm sorry, but my boss is going to yell at me more if I don't go." Werner said. "Sorry to inconvenience you." Naoki smiled, as Werner excused his sad figure from the table, and walked over to the door, with his eyes hanging down. It was as if his eyes were thousand pound weights, and lifting them was almost impossible. But before Werner opened the door, he added something.

"If Kenny had never died, I..." Werner mumbled, but never continued the sentence. Before Naoki or I could say something, he left.

"What do you think?" I asked Naoki. "Werner was obviously shaken. I doubt that he was lying." Naoki replied.

"If I were to believe what he said, then the conflict with Baller Boyz would have been nothing more than a catalyst." Naoki started. "Whoever he was talking about was planning to split Toyuu up."

"And Werner just got used." Naoki added, an a look of deep thought came over his eyes.

"Which means... someone is trying to put Mikey-kun and Kenny against eachother?" I thought aloud. "Why would anyone do that?"

"Regardless, this alter altercation with Baller Boyz is what's going to cause all of this." Naoki stated, and he stood up.

"That means Toyuu can't fight Baller Boyz." I started. "I have to stop them!"

"Correct. Please tell that to Mikey." Naoki took a knife out of his pocket.

"Got it. I'll try to stop them." I smiled a little, and Naoki put the knife to my neck.

"Good luck, Kanashii-san." Naoki smiled lightheartedly, and dragged the knife across my neck. My ears rang, as I felt the blood gush out, and burning sensation.

Everything faded to black, and with an occasional blue haze once again.
