Chapter 24

Huh...? Where am I? I opened my eyes, to a bright room. I sat up slowly, and lazily. I stretched my arms out, and my right hand reached what felt like a persons shoulder. Huh?

"Still a perv." I heard a girl's familiar nonchalant voice sigh. I looked to my right, and saw the girl from the other day.

"E-Emma-chan! Sorry- you've got the wrong idea!" I stuttered, almost forgetting I was still crossdressing. My eyes turned to my left, and I saw...

"I'm in the hospital?" I muttered, and furrowed my eyebrows. I felt around my face, and felt bandages along my nose, cheeks, and eye. My memory felt cloudy, and I still felt sleepy as well. I clapped my cheeks.

"Oh. Right!" My memory finally came back to me. I fainted...

"Where's Mikey-kun and everyone else? Are they okay?" I turned to Emma. "Kenny called me." Emma started, and sighed. "When I got there, I found you."

"W-where's Kenny...?" I said, almost afraid to ask, due to the look of dismay that glinted in her eyes. Suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes, and dripped down her cheeks.

"He got in a fight with Mikey." She started, trying unsuccessfully not to sniffle. Wait, does that mean... "W-why did they start fighting?" I asked.

"I-I don't know... Things just kept escalating..." Emma uttered, and her shoulders quivered as she spoke. "Apparently Toyuu ended up divided between the Mikey faction and the Kenny faction..."

Don't tell me...

"Something about Pah-chin getting caught... They all started fighting..." She closed her eyes, and tilted her head down.

Toyuu's internal conflict...! That fight made everything- Werner's distraught figure from the future had appeared in my head. Will turn out exactly like Werner said! I grit my teeth, and face palmed. Why did I have to faint!

Emma suddenly broke out sobbing, and she fell to her knees, resting her head on my lap. "Emma-chan, don't cry," I said timidly, and put my hand on her head. "Kenny is okay... right? I don't know what's going on anymore!" Emma cried. Her words were muffled, from having her face buried in my lap.

"Kanashii-chan! Are you okay?" I heard a familiar girl's voice say. I turned, to see Kokoro with a concerned look on her face. She stopped abruptly when she saw Emma's face buried in my lap, and she suddenly scowled.

"Wait, what?! That's disgusting!!" Kokoro shrieked, and took a step back. "Huh? What are you..." I muttered in confusion, and than looked down at Emma. It suddenly sank in.

"What the- you know full well it's not what it looks like!" I said to Kokoro, who smiled mischievously, and brushed it off.

It's already March 15th... Toyuu split in two. I raised the very last puzzle piece, and placed it gently into its place. At this rate, there really is going to be an internal conflict like Werner said...

And on March 22nd, Kenny's gonna die.

I stood up, and stared at my 2,500-piece puzzle proudly. And here I am, hurt and stuck convalescing.

"Sweet." I smiled to myself. I got so bored, that I finished a 2,500-piece puzzle! What a worthless sense of accomplishment. I wasn't crossdressing today. There was no need to, since I had to stay in my room and recover.
