I stepped through the kitchen door and a strong smell of different cheeses and sauces inflamed my nostrils. Compared to the cafe, the kitchen was quite busy with about ten different staff members rushing from counter to counter, throwing different fillings into large pieces of bread. Phil stepped up to me and smiled.

'It fits quite well! It was my daughter's old uniform. Hey, don't look so worried, I washed it first. She just moved away a couple of years ago. Too cool for the Sandwich Shack, I see. Now, i'm busy preparing sandwiches for a party of about fifty. We're catering their party so um.. Niall!' Niall looked up and immediately smiled at me. He walked over, his sleeves still rolled up, and his hair still messy.

'Hey, Brianna. You 'right, Phil?'

'Yeah. But I don't have time to show Brianna what to do or how to work the cash machine. Sounds simple, but she's never done that machine fucks up an awful lot. Excuse my french. But just show her round and show her the kitchen, lockers. That sort of stuff. Got to dash. See you later!' Phil wandered off and I felt Niall's eyes burning into my face.

'Stop staring at me.' I muttered, giving him a playful slap on the face. He laughed and walked off in the opposite direction that Phil had walked. He lead me to a long wall that had counters all the way down it.

'Hey, Sabrina!' Niall went to stand next to a girl. She turned around to look at him and then looked at me. Her hair was long, wavy and blonde. It was pulled back into a high ponytail and her eyes were a dark brown. She smiled at me with bright red rosy lips and showed her teeth which shone a bright white even under the dim lights of the kitchen.

'Who's this?' She said, not taking her eyes off me.

'Her name's Brianna. Phil just hired her. I'm looking after her.' Niall looked at me and shot me a smile. I looked away, shyly and stepped back. Niall immediately jumped up.

'Hey, where are you going? We've only just started the tour. See you around, Sabrina!' Niall trilled, happily then wandered out the kitchen door into the main cafe area.

'Of course you know the main cafe.' He walked towards the back of the cafe and pointed to the toilets.

'Toilets.' He walked through a small wooden door that I didn't actually notice before. It was a small square room with about twenty lockers altogether. The walls were painted a soft blue and the floor underneath was a dark wood colour.

'And these are the lockers for the staff to keep personal belongings or our uniform. I'm guessing you'll get one if you get through today.' He went to go sit on the bench in the middle of the room. He leaned on his legs and patted a spot next to him. I shook my head violently.

'You're supposed to be giving me a tour.' I said, staring at him.

'The tour's over.' He said. 'So do you like this place?'

'I guess. Haven't seen much of it.'

'What the hell do you want? A map and a little train like you get at Disneyland?'

'Uhm..' I fell back, getting as close to the door as I could. Niall gave me a smirk and stood up.

'Why are you so nervous around me?' He asked, moving towards me.

'I'm not.' I said, trying to hard to stand up for myself. But Niall's aggressive tone made me feel small. Just then I heard Sabrina calling from the kitchen.

'Niall! Niall!' She called. Niall gave me a wink and moved around me towards the door. He pushed the handle and I felt the wooden door fall behind me. I tripped and almost fell but I reached out and grabbed the door frame. Niall gave a chuckle before walking passed me,

'See you soon, Bri.' He winked and walked off.

* * *

I walked into the kitchen to see Phil rushing back and forth with large tuppaware tubs full of large sandwiches. I looked across and saw Niall talking to Sabrina. I walked over and when I did, they stopped talking almost immediately.

'Hi, Brianna.' Niall said, shooting a smile at me.

'I just wanted to know what you wanted me to do? Should I make sandwiches or...?' I looked around the kitchen. It seemed even busier than when I last saw it.

'Uhm..Sure.' Niall muttered. He walked over to the counter and placed three plates of sandwiches on the counter beside me.

'Take these three to table six.' He said with a smile.

'I only have two hands.' I stared at the plates in horror. I'd seen waiters carry three plates at once. But I couldn't do that. My balance was awful.

'You'll figure it out.' Niall winked. Sabrina gave a little laugh and just turned away. I stared at her, feeling a tiny bit of hatred towards her. Niall grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away, leaving me to struggle on my own.

I picked up one plate. Easy enough. Then using my free hand, I tried to slot the other plate in between my two fingers, and weirdly, I managed to balance it. I picked up the last plate with my free hand and walked slowly to the door. I stepped slowly and walked towards table six. Carefully. Carefully.

'Boo!'

The large plates fell to the floor and my feet buckled under me. I fell to the floor, the sandwiches dropping beside me. Tears started pricking in my eyes until I looked up. Niall and Sabrina were laughing at me from the kitchen. The second Niall saw me, his smile dropped. He stepped over to me and grabbed my arms from underneath. I shook him off and he dropped me back to the floor.

'Brianna. Are you okay?' He asked. I stared up at him, a tear dropping down my cheek with embarrassment. I wiped it away quickly.

'Hey, Bri.' He said, putting his hand of my shoulder Again, I shrugged him off and ran to the far end of the cafe, and straight into the toilets.

I whipped my phone out of my pocket and dialled Aidan's number.

'Hey, Bri. What's up? How's the job?' His chirpy voice echoed through the phone.

'Can you just pick me up, Aidan?'
