'Brianna? Hey. Brianna..?'
I blinked a few times before opening my eyes. I stared up, light headedly, at the bright light on the ceiling. To the left of me, I saw Aidan smiling.
'Bri.' He smiled.
'Oh hey, Aidan.' I muttered. I looked around. I wasn't on my bed. I was lying on a red silk duvet. The room was a cream coloured with red curtains. I sat up and saw Niall on the armchair in the corner. In the distance, I heard loud dubstep music. I felt some pressure on my injured hand and looked at it, seeing a white bandage wrapped all the way around it and fixed with a safety pin.
'Where the fuck am I?'
'Erm, Aimee's bedroom I think.' Aidan muttered looking around. I swung my legs off the bed and caught Niall's eye. He looked up at me and smiled.
'How are you feeling, Bri?' He smiled. Aidan whipped his head round and frowned at him.
'She's fine.' He muttered, angrily. I smiled apologetically at Niall and looked towards Aidan.
'Aidan..'
'Didn't I tell you not to come to this party?' He muttered angrily. 'I said i'd stay and make sure that you hand didn't need stitches. But now I can go. Have fun, Brianna.' He stormed off angrily, and I heard the door slam a few seconds later. I sat on the bed biting my lip, staring at the door.
I hated it when me and Aidan fell out. When we were little, Aidan used to agree with me on everything just so that we stayed friends. And when my father died, he told me that he'd never ever fall out with me, because he knew that he was the most important male in my life. Except Todd of course. But I hardly ever saw him. He was like that person that you knew existed, but you hadn't seen in so long; so it seemed almost impossible that he was still alive. It was just the few minutes on the phone that I loved so much because he'd ask how I was, what i'd been up to and how I was holding up.
Suddenly, Niall came to sit beside me; snapping me back to reality.
'Are you okay?' He asked, looking at me. I nodded, not turning towards him. This was his fault anyway. I wanted to go home; but it was his persuasive smile that made me stay. He grabbed my hand gently and traced over the bandage.
'How's your hand?' He muttered. His deep irish voice was somewhat comforting, making me look up.
'It's okay.'
'What exactly happened? I only left you for a minute.'
'I went to find a drink, and those boys started talking to me and blocking my way. And I guess I just fell..' I mumbled, quickly. I looked away when suddenly a question sprang to my mind.
'How did Aidan know to come here?' I asked. He laughed and looked away. We were both staring at the floor in silence.
'I went on your phone. It said, 'ICE'. Sabrina said that it meant 'in case of emergency', that her parents used it or something? So I called him and I told him that you'd passed out, I guess. And he just turned up. Aimee said that you could lie down on her bed until you woke up, so Aidan carried you upstairs. He looks like he really likes you, Brianna..' Niall's voice broke as if he was upset. But when I looked up, he was smiling.
'I know. We're just friends though. Well best friends. I think.'
'Hey why'd you pass out by the way? Did you hit your head? Aidan looked for any injuries. We didn't really know what happened, but he only found a cut on your hand.'
'I don't like blood.' I spat. I suddenly felt my cheeks burn a bright red as I realized how stupid it sounded.
'I erm..' I muttered, trying to regain my 'normalness' back. But it was no use. To my surprise, Niall just laughed.
'That isn't something I tell people, i'm sorry; I guess it just..' With my good hand, I caught my head, trying to cover up my embarrassed face.
'Don't worry, love. I have a few secrets too.' Niall muttered. He gave a smile and looked away from me. Then something Aidan said, made me look at Niall and mumble;
'Niall. Aidan told me something before I came to the party..'
Niall looked at me and frowned at me.
'What was it?'
'I uhm.. apparently you got arrested?' I looked away from him, not wanting to look him in the eye when the answer came. Either he hadn't got arrested, and i'd look stupid. Or he had got arrested and he was dangerous. Niall gave a laugh before turning to me.
'Yeah, about that. I-..'
'Niall! Brianna! There you are. Brianna, how are you feeling?' Aimee yelled as she came to the door. I stared at her before nodding. Whilst I was talking to Niall, I felt as though we were in a little bubble. Nobody but us. But now we both saw Aimee standing in the doorway of her room.
But her loud voice made me suddenly hear the loud music downstairs. I snapped back to reality and stared at Aimee as though she had a frog on her head. She smiled widely at me, and swung her cream prom dress at me. She held her silver heels in her hand.
'Niall? You coming?' She jeered.
'Uhm, yeah.' Niall stood up and turned around. He turned around and held out a hand to me, sticking one hand in his blazer pocket.
'Are you okay to come down, Brianna?' He smiled at me. I took one look at him before putting out an arm and taking his hand with a smile on my face.
