I stepped through my front door.
My mum was sat at the bottom of the stairs, her arms folded, starting at me. Her hair was put up in loose bun, and she was wearing her dressing gown.
'Brianna!' She yelled. She jumped up and wrapped her arms around me before pulling away and holding me at arm's length. She stared at me from my toes to the top of my head. I heard a few footsteps and within seconds, Finn was at the bottom of the stairs staring at me with wide, tired eyes.
'Mum? Are you okay?' I muttered, confused.
'Me?! Are you okay? I woke up on the sofa after Finn was complaining that he knocked his mug over all over his bed. I checked up on you and you weren't in your room. Brianna, you scared us half to death. I even rang Noah for fuck's sake. I tried ringing Aidan but he wasn't answering. Where were you?'
I shuffled around my mum to the stairs and stared at her with frowning eyes.
'Mum, I told you. I went to a party at this girl's house. She goes to my work..wait what do you mean you called Noah? He's in America, what do you expect him to do? Not to mention the cost of the calls. We can't afford that!'
'Forget the prices, Bri. I thought you were dead or kidnapped or something! I was so worried.'
I looked away to Finn. My nine year old brother was holding on to his toy monkey, burying his nose into it like he had done since he was little. When he heard what my Mum thought, tears began to brim in his eyes.
'Oh Finn, don't be so soppy. I'm fine, see.' But I bent down and wrapped my arms round him. When I stood up my Mum was dragging a hand through her hair, pulling out the bun.
'Same to you. Though, I did tell you. Look, i'm tired. And Finn should be in bed too. Did you replace his bedding?' I asked. My mum bit her lip and shook her head. I let out a sigh and stepped up the stairs, after ripping off my heels and holding them in my left hand.

'Brianna!'
'Brianna!'
'Oh for god sake..'
My bedroom door was pushed open and swung on the hinges before swinging back and forth from the force. My mother was stood in a long t shirt and leggings, her hair in a bun on the top of her head.
'What the fuck do you want, Mum? I don't have college today. It's over remember?'
'You really think I want to get you up after that stunt you played last night? I would've left you alone, but that attractive blonde guy at the door insisted on seeing you.'
I shot up and stared at her. I felt my hair fall out my ponytail as I did. I dragged a sweaty hand through my hair in an attempt to make it look attractive. I shoved past my mum in my sheep vest top and shorts before stepping to the door. I saw Niall look up from the floor and raise his eyebrows. He was wearing jeans and a leather jacket. One corner of his mouth turned up into a smirk and I blushed a bright red, catching my reflection in the mirror. I had mascara all around my eyes, making me look like a panda with very knotty hair.
'Oh my god, Niall.' I whispered. He bit his lip before sticking two large hands into his jean pockets.
'Brianna. Are you okay? You didn't answer my texts and I got worried.. I mean..' He muttered, his voice gruff and with a hint of worry.I reached over to my bag that hung on the bannister and pulled out a white iphone with a pink case and clicked the lock button. The black screen stayed black no matter how many times I pressed the button.
'Shit. Forgot to charge my phone. I'm sorry but i'm fine.' I said, turning to face him. My mouth was turned into a smile but I could tell from his eyes that he didn't believe me.
'Are you sure?' He continued biting his lip. My eyes flickered to the stairs, in the direction of my either uncaring or over-caring mother.
'Positive.' The words fell off my lips.
His eyebrows fell together as he frowned at me. Then he smiled, sparkly white teeth catching the light.
'You want to go somewhere?' He asked.
