I stepped down the stairs one by one and stood my front door just as my mother came out from the kitchen. She looked me up and down before frowning at me. She clutched her mug which read 'fuck diamonds; shoes are a girl's best friend'. She took a long sip from it and raised up her eyebrows as if to say 'what are you doing in that short skirt and tank top at five minutes past seven on a Friday night.

'I'm going to a party. It's Aimee from work. She's holding a party at her place. This guy's coming to pi-'

My mother closed her eyes and let out a sigh, stopping me mid-sentence.

'Whatever, babe. I've got a banging headache. I'm not in the mood. Have fun.' She shuffled in her slippers towards the living room and I heard the TV switch on.

I pulled open the door and the frosty winter wind hit my bare legs, making me shiver. I saw a small black ford car at the end of my street and I suddenly got a knot in my stomach. I saw his blonde hair step out of the car, followed by a smug smile. Niall rested one arm on the top of his car. Even though the sky was becoming dark, the streetlamps lit up his dark outfit.

He was wearing a plain white top, blazer and black baggy jeans. His hair was spiked up messily.

I stepped over to the car and gave him a quick smile.

'You look great.' He winked. I blushed bright red and quickly got into the car.

I didn't actually say anything until we pulled up outside a large building. It was huge, and through the two-storey high glass windows, I could see bright lights flashing and could actually hear songs playing loudly.

'Is this Aimee's house?' I asked, looking at Niall. He laughed for a second before looking up at me, nodding.

'Yup. This is it. Her parents are loaded. Her dad's an architect. He basically made this house. And her mum's a model for the clothing brand 'Genesis'. I only know all this because she doesn't stop going on about it. She likes to show off. But I mean look at her house.'

I looked away from Niall and admired the large building even more. It had a short flight of steps leading up passed various flower bushes on to a deck where the front door was.

'We should probably go in.' He muttered. I turned to look at him just as he climbed out of the car and  opened the passenger door for me to get out of.

'Come on.' He smiled. I smiled back, nervously and got out. He slammed the door shut and locked it. I followed him up the stairs towards the front door. He opened the door and stepped in. The music became even louder.

As I stared at the large wooden stairs in front of me, and saw various colours of lights, I wanted to burst out crying. I didn't know anybody and I was only invited because I was the new employee. I started biting my lip just as I felt a hand grab mine. I quickly looked up and Niall was pulling me through the large room that had the large glass window. We went through the kitchen where a group of boys were drinking beer and I think smoking weed. When we got out of the kitchen, I pulled Niall aside from all the people that were dancing in the living room.

'Niall, was that weed?' I asked, biting my lip.

'Yeah, do you want some? I could probably ask those guys. They're just Aimee's cousin's mates. Should we go find Aimee?'

'No! I shouldn't be here. Can you take me home, please?' I asked. I looked around at everyone and it only occured to me that about 80% of the people here were drunk and/or high. I looked back at Niall and he was staring at me. His bright blue eyes burnt into mine with desperation.

'Please don't. Just stay for a bit.' I asked, smiling at me.

'Do I have a choice?' I muttered back. He shook his head, his smug smile returning on his face. I let out a sigh and watched as he walked towards some people that he obviously knew. He exchanged handshakes and high fives with a few of the lads then smiled over at me. I gave a half hearted smile back and stepped into the kitchen, in search of a drink. The boys that were smoking and weed and drinking were still there, laughing to themselves. I shuffled passed them towards the fridge but a black haired boy stuck out an arm, blocking my way.

He bright his face closer to mine and whispered.

'Hey gorgeous.'

I went bright red and still made an attempt to get to the fridge. But I lost my balance and fell against the corner of the island. My hand was soon covered in rich red blood that started to drip all over the floor. It made my skin crawl.

'Shit.' I muttered. The boys just stared at me, shocked, suddenly seeming sober. I walked passed them and rushed into the lounge in desperate search of Niall. We worried me.

The way he'd stare straight into my eyes and not look away; and the way he generally seemed like he liked me. Plus, he was my ride. But looking at my hand, I wasn't sure if I was going to go home or go to the hospital.

Damn I hated blood. The feel of it dripping down my arm as I held my hand up; in a desperate attempt to stop the blood from flowing out my hand. I saw the red liquid drip on the floor out of the corner of my eye and suddenly I heard a gasp and a hand touched my shoulder. I looked and saw Sabrina looking at me. Her long blonde hair was in a tight bun at the top of her head, and she was wearing a tight tye dye dress with black heels.

'Oh my god, Brianna. What happened?' She asked. I looked at my hand. I suddenly felt extremely faint, and the last thing I heard was Sabrina's voice yelling my name as I fell to the floor.
