'So. What's up? You've been here for half an hour now, and you haven't said anything to me. What's up? Did I do something wrong?' Aidan asked. He stared at me with worried eyes. I picked at my nailpolish whilst staring at Aidan's living room. I sat on his leather sofa whilst facing the fireplace. Pictures of him and his family smiling sat just above the cold charcoal.
'No. It's not you. It's Niall.' I muttered. I didn't look at him, but I could see him sitting up in the two seater sofa. I looked over and he was leaning on his knees.
'Who's Niall..?' He asked. Sighing, I put my hand on the sofa and looked at him.
'This guy at work. But it doesn't matter. I'm not going there again.' I saw Aidan wanting to protest but I stepped out the living room, and walked out the front door.

'So you're just not going?' Aidan muttered down the phone, sounding slightly disappointed.
'What's the point? They clearly don't want me there?' I said. I lay back on my bed and looked at the clock. Tuesday's were always my favourite. No classes. It didn't quite explain why I was up so early though.
'Oh come on, Bri. Grow up a bit. Just because you fell, suddenly you won't go into work.' I'd told Aidan after he called me last night; after I walked out of his house with no explanation. I started regretting telling him though.
'Gee. Thanks, Aidan.' I said, sarcastically. The digital clock turned to 9:10am. I was now ten minutes late for work.
'You know what? Just leave me alone, Aidan.' I hung up the phone and threw it on the duvet before sitting up and reaching for my dressing gown. I heard my phone ring and rolled my eyes. I picked it up and was about to yell at Aidan for ringing once again, when I heard an Irish accent come down the phone line.
'Bri?'
'Niall?' I asked.
'Erm, yeah. I stole Phil's phone. Hey. Phil told me that you emailed you. He said you got the job? I don't know if you forgot but..'
'No. I remembered. I'm just clearly not wanted by your 'Sandwich Shack'.' I lay back, and stared at the ceiling.
'But you got the job?' Niall sounded confused. A smile appeared on my face and how clueless he was.
'I'm not an idiot. You made me jump so i'd drop the plates. You and Sabrina. I don't know what you have against me, or why you don't want me there. But you've got your wish. I won't work there.'
'That's not what I want. Uhm, can I talk to you? I have a break in fifteen minutes. Can I meet you at the Sandwich Shack, please?'
'If this is another one of your stupid pranks..'
'It's not. Just be there, okay? Gotta go. See you later.' The phone went dead. I threw it on the duvet once more and let out a sigh.

I fell against the side of the large glass building. Quite a few customers walked passed me, some with sandwiches in little 'Sandwich Shack' bags. Others with a few pieces of lettuce still stuck the side of their lip. I gave a little laugh before I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Niall wearing his uniform and a little black coat. His hair was as messy as it was the last time I saw him. His eyes glistened under the bright sun. He handed me a Starbucks travel cup and he handed it to me with a smile. He held a matching one in his right hand.
'Hey.' He said. He gave me a smile and took a sip from his drink.
'What's this?' I asked, putting the cup up.
'Uhm. Hot chocolate. You sounded a bit pissed this morning. So I brought you this to cheer you up.'
'Right. So. Why did I meet you here again?' I raised one eyebrow and smiled back at his cheery expression.
'Right. Brianna. I just wanted you to know that me and Sabrina..'
'..didn't try and make me fall on my arse. Don't try it, Niall. I saw you laughing with her. Look. You may not like me. But i'm not sure why or why the hell I deserved to be humiliated.'
'I don't dislike you. Sabrina does.' I raised my eyebrows and gave a small chuckle.
'Oh. So that makes it all okay then?' Niall nervously laughed and grabbed my arm. He pulled me into the cafe and into a small room to the right side of the cafe; opposite the kitchen. It was full of sandwich ingredients such as mayonnaise and ketchup, to be put in the fridge when they eventually ran out.
'Brianna. Sabrina has this crazy crush on me. Always has. Ever since she started working here last Summer. There's been a lot of girls come and go, and she's treated all of them the same.' He put his coffee cup down on the shelf beside me. He stared at me.
'Oh'
Niall smiled and went to pick up his coffee. Of course, I didn't know that that's all he was going to do, I jumped backwards, spilling my hot chocolate all over the floor.
'I. Erm..I gotta go..' I walked off towards the door but Niall stopped me by sticking out his arm and resting it on the shelf. I stared at him with wide, scared eyes.
'What're you doing? Where are you going?' He asked. He reached over and grabbed the coffee cup with his free hand, keeping his other in front of me; stopping me from moving. I stared at him, my lips locked shut. I was unable to speak. I was too shocked.
'I. Uhm..'
He raised his eyebrows at me. Then his arm dropped and a smile appeared on his face. He stuck his hand in his pocket once again.
'You are nervous around me. And i'm not quite sure why. Do I.. scare you?'
I shook my head quickly, not taking my eyes off of him. It wasn't a complete lie. It was only when he made extreme moves that I got scared. Like stopping me from moving. Or stopping me from moving when we were in the locker room. Now, his hand was in his pocket and his smile was bright. He seemed friendly instead of being the persuasive boy i'd met. He had almost two personalities.
'Right. Well. My break is almost over. Uhm. You can go get your uniform on. I'll see you in a minute.' He stared at me for a minute before walking out of the cupboard; leaving me alone. Once again.
