Chapter 15 - Weekend Trip Part 1

Percy P.O.V
I woke up feeling refreshed. I looked at the time on the clock, '8:30', I softly nodded to myself and began to get ready for the day. I showered, and because I actually wanted to be clean I decided to just let myself get soaked and transformed, my tail bigger than the tub. I sighed in a bit of frustration but also relaxation. I grabbed some liquid soap and just started to scrub down on my chest and tail, scrubbing the scales took ages. After I rinsed I willed myself dry and stepped out. I sighed, "I sometimes miss the beach, I just wish that there was a beach near here. Well I suppose I can settle for the pool, that's the closest I can get here." I said to myself wishful. I stepped out of the bathroom and saw that Scott wasn't in his room, he must've beaten me downstairs to get the first helping of breakfast. "Hey honey! It's your favourite, blue pancakes with blueberries and blueberry icecream!" Mom said. I smiled and took a seat at the table. "What took you so long Percy? You were up there for like half an hour." Aunt Melissa said. "Oh, my bad, I was having a shower, that included washing my uh, special attachment." I said awkwardly, doing a soft wave motion with my hand. Aunt Melissa got the message and mom stifled a small laugh. "So perce? You have any plans for this weekend?" Scott asked. I thought about the beach, the soft sand between my toes and the salty sea breeze, but despite my better judgement I decided I would let Scott choose. "Oh I'm not sure." I said. "Well, how about we take a small weekend holiday to Montauk?" Scott said excitedly. "Wait really?! That's my childhood place! Mum took me down there all the time!" I said happily. Aunt Melissa and mom laughed. "You boys might not remember but when you two were three, me and Sally took you down there for a holiday. One of the rare occasions we had for you two to actually see each other." Aunt Melissa said. Scott and I smiled at our moms and continued to eat. "So is it decided? Do you boys want to go to Montauk this weekend? I can rent out a couple cabins if you want to invite your friends as well." Mom said. Scott and I nodded excitedly. "Well you two go pack enough stuff for one night, and go tell your friends ok?" "Sure thing mom!" I said. Scott and I raced up the stairs and started to get ready. "Oh Scott, how did you know I wanted to go to the beach?" I asked curiously. Scott laughed, "well for one I could hear you from upstairs, Wolf hearing remember? And I could tell by the beating of your heart the mention of the beach excited you so that's why I suggested Montauk. Your mom told me about you and her going there often." He said. I smiled happily and continued to pack.

Once we were done mum piled all of our stuff into the car. Scott texted the pack and I iris messaged the seven. They all agreed to Montauk and decided to meet at the cabins Mom had rented out for us. After about an hour or so, we had arrived. I saw the pack and the seven gathered outside the cabins waiting for us. As we parked I immediately got out and the smells hit me like an oncoming truck, the beautiful scent of the water, the sand covering my feet, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, like someone waving me hello. I waved to the ocean and said a silent prayer to my dad. "Percy! Can you come and help me lift my bag please? I may have slightly overpacked." My mom called. "Sure thing mom! And what have I said about overpacking?" I said smiling. After we unpacked the car and sorted everything into the cabins, everyone met outside again. "Alright! So what should we do? There's a lot of time to pass since sunset isn't for a while now." Leo said excitedly. "Well I for one will be swimming, if anyone wants to join me you are welcome to." I said. "I think mom packed some beach games so that can be set up." Scott said. Everyone nodded and split up, I was going swimming with Scott,  then Annabeth, Leo, Frank, Hazel, piper, Jason, maila and Stiles were playing beach volleyball and that left Liam, kira and lydia were making things in the sand. Mom and aunt Melissa were up on the patio to their cabin just chatting. "Alright Percy, I'll race ya down as far as we can!" Scott said. "Oh your on wolfy, you know I can beat you so easy, I can do it without my tail!" I said challenging him. "Oh your on fishface!" Scott said. We laughed and charged into the water, I was willing myself dry as promised and I put a bubble of water around Scott's head.

"Alright, you see that coral down there? We will go to that and come back to the surface! Sound good?" I relayed. Scott nodded. "But before we go, if you feel at all drowsy or anything like that, immediately come back up got it?" I warned. "Don't worry nothing will happen!" He said confidently. I reluctantly nodded and prepared to take off. "Alright on three! One...two...three!" Scott shouted as we took off. I had the lead, of course, I looked behind me to see Scott catching up, I used the currents to carry me quicker and I had made it to the piece of coral we agreed was the checkpoint. I touched it and I started to race back to the surface, "how dare you?? You didn't go easy on me!" Scott laughed as he was racing towards the coral. "Sorry cuz! This race was pretty much made for me!" I laughed back. I had broke the surface. "Haha take that wolfy! Never challenge a son of Poseidon to a race at sea!" I said confidently. After a couple of seconds I started to get worried, Scott should've been up here by now. "Um Scott? You ok down there?" I said looking down towards the deeper part of the sea, only to be scared to my very core, I saw Scott just floating there. Eyes closed and not breathing, the air bubble had popped, I must've lost my concentration and that cause the bubble to pop. I raced down, willed myself to get drenched and got my tail, making me go even faster. "SCOTT!! SCOTT WAKE UP PLEASE!!" I screamed terrified. I tried to shake him awake but it wasn't working, then I remembered what dr Deaton had said, a scale from a siren could temporarily make someone a mer in the most dire situations, this was definitely one of those.

I laid Scott down on a bed of soft moss and plucked one of my scales off and gave it to Scott. "Please, Scott please wake up." I said, as I fed Scott the scale, I prayed I did it right. "Please, dad if your listening, please give me as much help as possible, I can't lose Scott." I said slight tears in my eyes. A bright red light shone in the water and I looked back to Scott, to see his eyes burst open, red alpha eyes shining, he gasped deeply.

Scott P.O.V
What I last remember is doing a race with Percy, he beat me with no problems and because I was going too fast I collided with the coral and knocked myself out, popping the bubble of air in the process. I could feel like I was in the grasp of death but I was pulled out by a blinding red light, I shot upwards, my breathing heavy. "Percy? What happened?" I asked confused. Percy wasn't answering me, only staring at me in awe, he was in his siren form, I have no idea why. That is until Percy spoke up. "SCOTT!" Percy cried rushing to bear hug me. "Oh my gods your ok! I can't believe it worked! I'm so so sorry I had no idea you would get hurt I had no other ideas so I just transformed and gave you one of my scales and..." his words spilling out all at once. "Wait wait wait. Hold on for a minute. You gave me one of your scales? Like your tail scales?!" I said, the realisation slowly coming to me. He nodded happily. He gestured to where my legs were, or where they would be, my legs had fused together and created a gorgeous red and black tail, fins covered it and the fluke was spiked, unlike Percy's whale shaped fluke, I also had webbed hands and the webbing was a coral red and not like Percy's green and blue, gills on my neck and some fur on my arms instead of fins. "Oh my god! Percy it worked! I'm a merman!" I said happily. "But only for half an hour, so we have to hurry. But hey you did get fur! On your arms and face!" Percy said. I touched my face and it felt like it did normally. "Damn, I guess we were both right then!" I said playfully. We both laughed. "Well hey, since your like this for half an hour, wanna rematch?" Percy said confidently. "Oh yeah! Your on kelpie!" I said. I awkwardly started to swim with my tail and Percy just laughed. "Here, I'll have to teach you before we actually race." I smile and nod appreciatively. This was definitely gonna be a highlight to this weekend.

Wooooo chapter 15 babyyyyyy!! So this is part one of two. I wanted to split these ones up since it covers a whole weekend and I'm still debating whether or not to add something in but I guess you'll have to wait until the next one! Buh-byeeee!!!
