Harry's POV ~
Teddy was due home any minute now and the house was buzzing and cleaner than it had been in years. Draco's house elves were good at their job.
Something had changed between him and Draco yesterday, and it wasn't hard to pinpoint what it was. They had spent the previous night clutching to each other and Harry had struggled to sleep at first, just listening to Draco's breathing and thinking about the complete spill he had had and how, as if by some miracle, Draco had heard it all with no judgement and even after that had told Harry to stay with him that night.
Now the only thing left to do would be to introduce him to Teddy and hope that Teddy liked him, and then he could stay. He would be able to stay either way really, but Harry would be happier if Teddy was happy. And that meant that Draco would have to be liked.
He walked into the kitchen stretching. When he woke up Draco had already left the bed. There he was standing over the stove and the kitchen smelt amazing, like sugar and spice and everything nice. Harry grinned and hugged Draco from behind. "What are you cooking?" He asked, speaking into Draco's hair.
Draco leant back into him slightly and sighed. "I really want Teddy to like me and kids like people who make them pancakes right? So I thought I'd make a little spread for breakfast. You don't think his gran will have fed him do you?" Harry shook his head, "No, I doubt it, it's not their breakfast time yet, they usually eat at 9 and it's," He checks his watch, "Half eight. So no you should be fine Dray.
"Good. Anyway, as much as I love your cuddles I need to flip this pancake so politely get off." Harry let out a surprised laugh and pulled away. "Alright then. I take no offence."
"That's a shame, I meant to cause great offence."
And with that the doorbell rung. "Ah, that'll be them then. One second I'll answer the door." Draco hummed an okay and Harry made his way to the front door. He heard the doorbell go again and sighed. Really impatience had to run in that family. Remus could never wait for anything either.
"Okay, okay I'm coming." He muttered. He opened the door with a big grin on his face. "Uncle Harry!" Teddy exclaimed and leapt into Harry's waiting arms. "Hey Ted, how's it going darling?" Teddy nodded and then sniffed. "Are you making pancakes Uncle Harry?" Harry smiled at the boy and touched his nose. "Not me, but someone very special is."
The boy cocked his head to the side. "Auntie Hermione?" Harry shook his head and the boy suddenly looked worried. "Auntie Ginny?" Harry chuckled. "Definitely not, don't worry. You'll just have to wait and see." Teddy huffed but nodded.
"Right, I'm going to have to put you down kiddo. My back isn't what it used to be." Teddy giggled and slowly lowered himself down. Harry looked up to see Andromeda standing there and smiling. "Hello, Harry." He smiled back. "Hey, Andromeda how's everything going." She waved her hand dismissively, "Everything's fine dearie. I have to be off, I've got a knitting club with Molly Weasley in ten minutes." Harry nodded. "Of course! Tell Molly I said hello will you?"
"Will do, dear. I'll see you soon." She said to Teddy and chucked him under his chin. With a wave, she apparated away. Harry shook his head in awe. The woman was amazing. His attention was quickly pulled back to Teddy when the boy pulled on his hand. "Yes, Ted?"
"There's somebody singing in our kitchen uncle Harry. Have you hired a singer for the kitchen?" Harry burst out laughing. "I'll tell him you said no. And that's our special guest. Let's go and see him, shall we? Make sure you're very nice okay?" The kid nodded enthusiastically, "Let's go!" He practically dragged Harry into the kitchen.
Harry stumbled as Teddy let go of him. "Are you a prince?" He heard the kid ask with wonder in his voice. He looked up and saw the surprise on Draco's face before it cracked into a grin. "Nope, sorry little man. You must be Teddy?" Teddy looked amazed. "Uncle Harry, uncle Harry! The prince knows my name!" Harry laughed along with Draco. "yup buddy, he sure does. I think the prince is making some pancakes if you sit down?"
The speed at which the kid vaulted himself into his seat was quite frankly astounding. If he was a muggle he would definitely be some sort of runner. He sat there happily swinging his legs, sat on his hands and Harry walked over to Draco and took his hand softly. "So Dray, I think it's safe to say that you're a hit in the Teddy department."
"I would say so, maybe yes. Anyway, go sit down the pancakes are ready."
Harry snapped a quick salute and went to sit down. "Sir yes sir!" Draco retaliated by flicking a piece of slightly runny pancake at him, much to Teddy's amusement.
