Harry's POV ~

Teddy was ill so he had chosen to stay home rather than go to work. Dray had decided to go in not wanting anyone to get hurt while he was off and also just to keep an eye on things in case the admirer or one of the other Aurors tried to cause trouble.

Harry had just put Teddy to bed, he was extremely tired after the day the two had had. He yawned and stretched out on the sofa in his personal sitting room. It was the one room in the house nobody else was allowed to go in. Even the house elves steered clear of it, to be honest, they probably wondered if Harry was performing some sort of dark magic in there; in reality, he was just crushed and tired from the last couple of days and weeks if he was honest with himself.

He was proud though, with Draco by his side he had managed to keep Teddy with him for about two weeks at this point, without having to send him off to his grandmothers. Or spiralling out of control as he had done last time he was looking after him. He has tired but happy.

The feeling wasn't to last for long, though. The night dragged on and Harry waited in the main living space, waiting for Draco to arrive home from work. He should have been home hours ago. Not to mention the ministry was on skeleton staff the next day, so people were very likely to have gone straight home rather than work late into the night.

It worried him, Draco not coming back home, he was a prompt and punctual person, never really late for anything, and usually early home from whatever he was doing.

Harry fell asleep that night on the sofa, still patiently waiting for Draco to return home.

He was woken up by Teddy tugging on his hand and then running away giggling. At least he was feeling better and Harry wouldn't spend the rest of the day making ice packs and ripping out his own hair. If he did he might get a bald patch.

He wiped the sleep from his eyes and walked like a zombie into the kitchen expecting his blonde to be in there making some kind of breakfast, all ready to scold him for sleeping in and sleeping on the sofa.

Instead, the kitchen was empty except for the little boy swinging his legs and looking around for Harry or perhaps Draco, who he called the prince. He looked at Harry, head tilted to one side, like a curious puppy. "Daddy where's the prince? He promised to make french toast!" Harry shook his head in disbelief. Was Dray still not home? It had been over twenty-four hours since he had left.

Worry really started knawing at him then but he attempted to dismiss it and stop it from showing on his face, not wanting to worry Teddy. "I'm sure he's just having a lie-in poppet and he'll be down soon. Or he had a call from his work and had to go in early. Do you want me to make french toast?"

Teddy shook his head. "No dad, your french toast tastes like soggy pants." Harry stared at the child in disbelief and then cracked a smile. "Soggy pants? When have you been eating soggy pants sweetheart?" Teddy giggled but then said, "Just make me some toast dad it's fine. Normal toast." He added on pointedly. He was spending too much time around Draco for his own good the little bugger.

"Coming right up." He began getting the bread out and popping it in the toaster. He would attempt not to burn it this time as he usually did. He took the toast out and put it on his son's plate not bothering to eat anything himself, no appetite meaning he would rather be hungry.

His brow creased. He would have to go to the ministry and try to find out if Draco was there, or if anybody had seen him leave yesterday, try to get a clue as to where he had gone. If he had gone anywhere. He looked down at his robes from yesterday and decided they weren't too wrinkled.

"Ted, poppet, how would feel about your granny coming to visit today? I've got some work I need to do." The child's eyes lit up and he squealed. "Grandma!" Harry laughed at him and then called over his owl to write a letter to Andromeda.

Once he had finished he sent the owl off with the letter tied to its leg. Within fifteen minutes Teddy had finished his breakfast and was sat bouncing on his chair, hair bright blue. Andromeda walked into the kitchen and sent him a disapproving look. "Teddy! How many times must I tell you, bright blue hair is not becoming of a young man such as yourself. Really."

She then turned to Harry and smiled warmly. "Harry. It's so lovely to see you. I got your letter and of course, I can stay here for the day. You go out and do what you need to do. Off you pop." Harry smiled gratefully at her then picked himself up and walked over to Teddy giving him a hug. "I'll be back later poppet okay?"

He nodded absentmindedly and then looked at his grandma. "Can we bake cookies gma?" Harry quietly removed himself from the room and shook his head. Teddy would be fine. He pulled on his biggest cloak, the autumn was turning slowly into a chilly winter, and the air was biting and fierce.

He let himself out the door and walked along the driveway, remembering how only mere weeks ago he had run to make sure Draco could not enter his house and see the mess that somewhat resembled his life at that point. Draco had been his saving grace and his one true shot at redemption, he had saved his life. In more ways than one.

Harry walked down the road, ready to take down the world to get Draco back.
