Bye, My First

Later that night when everyone were asleep, there is still someone who's not sleeping. He was staying awake thinking what to do. He sat up and looked at that guy sleeping on the bed. He just smiled to himself and looked at that particular person. He was thinking of putting his hand on his face but he didn't because he was afraid that that person might wake up. Instead he decided to just watch him sleeping.
"The more I look at him, the more I fall for him. Good thing that I'm leaving soon. If not, I might not be able to keep my cool."
He took a deep breath and murmured to himself.

"Jeong Jaehyun, you were the one who taught me not to give up and maybe it's because of that, I am attached to you. At first, I doubted myself because not anyone can like someone just because of some words from them but it was different for me. I thought that I was just mistaking my feelings but the more I thought about it, the more I realise that this is not just that kind of feeling. I really like you. I have always liked you and will always like you. The space I have for you.... I think no one can fill it up. Things have happened between us and we have gotten closer and I think this is enough for me. I get to know you as a person. Even as a person who has always thought about giving up when things don't work, because of you I didn't give up. But now situation has changed and I think I need to give up this time. If I don't, I won't be able to let you go. I have decided to let you go. I hope you're always happy. And let everyone around you be happy. The dimples that appears whenever you smile, they gave me strength but I don't think it will be my strength anymore. I'm starting to realise that I need to give myself the strength that I need. Even though we'll be far apart, my thoughts will always go back to you and I'll be reminded of the time we spent together. I'll be smiling looking back. It'll only be memory for you and you'll forget it soon but I won't. Thank you for everything but I think it's time for me to let you go. So that we both find the happiness we long for. This is my farewell. Although you are sleeping, I just got to let you know. I like you and I'll always like you. But this is goodbye."

Jungwoo got up, packed his bag and came out from his room. He saw the others sleeping there. He took one last look at them and whispered goodbye to them. He took out a sticky note and wrote something for each one of them except for Jaehyun. Because he has already said that to him in person.

Birds chirping and the sun making its way inside the room looked beautiful as ever. Doyoung woke up and he saw Haechan sitting on the couch holding a piece of paper. There were tears in his eyes. Doyoung took no time to take the paper from Haechan and read what was written.

"Lee Haechan, don't make Mark confused. He loves you and I know you do love him too. I hope your relationship last forever. Let me see the mature Haechan when I decide to return. Until then......
                                     -Your Jungwoo hyung."

The tears were flowing nonstop. Doyoung woke everyone up and everyone has their own notes sticking on their belongings. When Doyoung looked for his, he found it on his phone.
"Hyung, I did it and I'm not a coward anymore. But hyung, don't give Taeyong hyung a hard time. You know how much I adore him and respect him. He was the first one to crack the ice between us and if I get to know that you guys broke up, you know I'm not forgiving you. Hyung, I love you and I'm sorry for leaving like this. If I wait for another day, I won't be able to leave you. You know how emotional I am. I hope you understand. Scold me when I return. Bye-bye.
                   -Hyung's favourite, Kim Jungwoo."

Everyone woke up and took a look at their notes. Renjun burst into tears. He knew Jungwoo for a short period but what he wrote touched his heart.
" Huang Renjun, take care of Jeno. He's a soft kid although he seems strong. You know him better than I do and take care of Jaemin too. I can only entrust them to you. They always looked comfortable around you. Jeno loves you very much and I do love you too. Let's get together when I return.
                             -Jeno, Jaemin's father like brother, Kim Jungwoo."

Jaemin didn't say anything and went inside Jaehyun's room to check on him. He was sitting on the bed not looking up. Heads down and hands clasped together. "Hyung, what are you doing here?"

Jaehyun didn't look up. Jaemin searched for a note but didn't find one. Jaemin didn't even read what Jungwoo wrote for him. Doyoung came inside and told Jaemin to read what Jungwoo wrote for him.
He sat down and looked at the note.

"Na Jaemin, you think I don't know what is going on inside your head. You are all smiley and look like you have nothing inside. I know that you are worried about what if Jeno and Renjun leave you when they go on a date. Don't worry. I don't know what is going on with you but you don't seem to be yourself these days. Whatever is going on in your mind get it done and don't let it get the best of you.
                             -Your Zeus hyung, Jungwoo."

Jaemin just put down the note and sat there.

How can Jungwoo hyung know that I have something going on? I didn't say it to anyone.

Not going to lie but Jaehyun did search for his note too. He thought that Jungwoo might have left something for him but he didn't. Doyoung just sat on the bed and said nothing.
"Hyung, did you know?"

Doyoung cannot understand what he's trying to say. Was the question about his feelings or was it about Jungwoo leaving without telling anyone?
"If it's about your feelings, I didn't know until yesterday. Taeyong hyung told me and if it's about Jungwoo leaving, I didn't know. He must have had his reasons."

Doyoung didn't know why Jungwoo left. He must have said his feelings to Jaehyun.

Even if I were him, I won't be able to say it directly.

The morning was heavy. No one said anything when they leave Jaehyun's house. Everyone got ready for classes. As they were about to step out, Doyoung got a text message from Jungwoo's mom.

"Doyoung-ah, did you drop Jungwoo off well? His flight is almost time."

Doyoung looked straight at Jaehyun, "Yah, Jeong Jaehyun!!! Now! Straight to the airport."
Jaehyun who was still in dazed got hold of himself and grabbed his bag.
