Simone

Deon and I walked home quietly that night. I can tell that he was just as confused as I was. As we entered our home he sat on the bed while I sat at the dining table.

"Don't you think we should talk about this Deon?" His head perked up like a dog indicating for me to continue.

"Well," I started. "Lucas is a cop. That's not good." Deon nodded in agreement pressing his lips. "We can stay low key with him and just use him as our alibi or we can just cut him completely off."

I swear I'm very loyal to Deon but part of me didn't want Lucas gone. I know that I'm charmed by his look and personality but I couldn't help the fact that I knew I wanted to see him again.

"So," Deon begins. "So not only did a loan shark scam us resulting in you murdering someone," He says scoffing. "Our only fucking alibi is a cop."

This time it was me who nodded in agreement. Our life is so fucked up. At this point I want to turn myself in and just take the years instead of running.

"Let's just sleep on it Simone." He said laying down patting the empty space next to him. I immediately went over removing my shoes and pants before laying down. Deon held me tightly while I snuggled deeper into his arm. He moved my hair off of my neck and started kissing me sending butterflies throughout my whole stomach.

Soon enough he bit my lip asking permission for our tongues to meet and I gladly invited him in. As we shared a passionate make out session I felt his hands run down my naked legs giving me chills.

As much shit we went through I think I deserve a little bit of sex.

Just before his hand could reach inside my underwear I stopped him.

"What is it? Are you okay?" He asked with a concerned look on his face. I smiled nervously and let out a laugh.

"Can you turn off the light first?"

"Simone what? We've been together how long and you still want to have the light off?"

"I like it with the lights off. Please?" Soon enough he got up turning off the lights.

We shared an intimate night with each other before falling asleep right after because honestly, Deon can truly tire someone out.

The next morning I was rudely awaken by banging at our door. I tried to ignore it hoping it would go away but it didn't. The banging has also woken up Deon causing him to get up and answer the door angrily.

"Who is it?" He asked with a stern voice.

"FPD."

Deon looked at me with wide eyes as we both realized that the police were at our door. Without any more hesitation Deon fixed his attitude and opened the door. I pretended to lay back down and sleep as it will not draw suspicion to me.

"Can I help you officer?" Deon asked politely.

"Hello, I am detective Terry Jones. This apartment is under investigation for missing person Cadince Howard. She was reported missing a day ago and we're hoping to get some leads by asking the apartment tenants."

"Oh no," Deon said sounding heartfelt. "Cadince was a good friend of ours. Well not good friend we weren't that close, but occasionally we'd see each other and just say hello." I opened my eyes to look and the detective and he had his hand on his chest expressing his sympathy for Deon.

Getting out of bed, I walked up to Deon ready to put on my best performance.

"What's going on?" I asked.
