Forest green glowing eyes stared at the large portrait, analyzing every inch of details with a smile stretched on her pale complexion.
It was only a matter of time when you would be in the same room as her, you try to reassured yourself.
Now that you've seen her this close for as long as you can remember, she is still the same, how her hair is kept, the dark shades of dresses she'd wear, the only thing that differs is her face that is starting to wrinkle, though the lines are only small ones and almost not that prominent, however, if you squint your eyes you'd see them clear.
You were beside Aisha and Aida's next to her, patiently waiting to be acknowledged by the woman.
And now as you observe who was in the room, there were two boys, one had a curly hair with its color a lighter shade of brown, and the other one had a bowl cut and almost the same hair color as your twin sisters, but his was more whiter than silver. They all were shorter, at least they'd know who the older one between all of you are. (And it did some raise some pride from you, as much as childish it was.)
While her back is still faced infront of you, seemingly she was busy admiring Norma's beauty, she then turn her head to her side, this time, a curl of her lips that doesn't reach her eyes as she asked with a gleeful tone.
" You two little angels, is the lady on the wall, your mother? " As she finally fully faced the three of you, that smile that is perfectly practiced to be a real one was revealed.
You tried to not let the sour look paste your face as impressions would be ruined, as much as you didn't like it, your father seemed to be happy around her and you wouldn't want that happiness burst into a popped bubble, so maybe a little game of pretending wouldn't be that bad.
" Thank you for your praise. " Aida said with a smile of her own.
" You're really also beautiful, Madam Sylvia. "
" However, Mother passed away after we were born, so we are not sure what maternal love is, but even so, we managed to grow up without it. "
You fumbled the necklace in your neck as you stood, trying to be tall and to stand out among them, though you feel like you weren't really there, it was like there was some barrier that was making you invisible to them but it's not like you hated it, in fact, you'd rather be not be acknowledged for these whole meeting.
.There were some things that you could have done than to waste such wasteful meetup with these children and the woman.
" Oh~ Gwen, had you such cute little daughters. I'll take care of you both with the responsibility of a wife and a mother in the future. " She intact her arm your father's and he smiled at her. " Sylvia, I believe you'll definitely make a great mistress of the family. "
" Daddy has already said that to so many women! " Aida whispered, giggling at the two. " Who knows if she's going to be last one. " Aida said. " I rather hope that another woman can replace her. " You thought.
You looked at your feet for the whole time being, feeling Sylvia's gaze seconds after seconds, you wonder if you really were a part of these family meeting or such.
With your eyes glaring at the boy who was about to touch Aida's hair, her eyes was closed as she smile, she must be really trying hard to give the best impression towards their new mother. " Your hair is very beautiful..." And when the boy's hand touched her, " Remove your hand! " it'd be soon when it got slapped away by Aisha herself. She looked at the boy who whimpered, a pink mark starting to form around his hand.
Aida looked between them, a disagreeing look as she frowned at her sister, " Aisha, why are you mad? It's nothing great! " She exaggerated with motioning her hand. " Sister, he shouldn't do such thing. " Aisha pointed out.
