You were frantic enough, everyone was worried.  You came running down the stairs that you might fall. Through the hallway you've come across with your father, you could hear him shout your name in a confused tone. You ignored him like how you did for the past few hours. Slyvia didn't seem to care as you swifted passed by her form talking to one of the maids of how the vases should be placed here and there.

Soon enough, you arrived the retirement home where your grandmother was.

You opened the doors wide with both of your arms, the action making it clash against the wall, a booming sound resonated inside the entrance of the building that it made the the people get startled by the sudden sound. Well, if it wasn't for it, it was definitely when they had their eyes in the door, seeing a youthful face that differs from all the wrinkled and old ones. You let yourself in and searched for your relative, eyes scanning the room but still couldn't find the same features as yours. A confused and surprised woman came rushing towards you, leaving the one she was tending, inquisitive as she was. You looked at her.

The lady wore a floor length black dress topped over with an apron like cloth, a cap over her head that indicates that she was one of the nurses that worked here. Judging by her face she was new. " Hello, dear —do you have an appointment — " You didn't acknowledge her greeting, merely searching for someone that wasn't there.

" Where's nurse Charlotte? " Just in time for your question that the said woman came sprinting down the stairs infront of you, she ushered you to come quickly and you complied. Leaving the blond girl in utter confusion only for her to realize who you were having the recognizable face the old woman had told stories to her a day ago. She watched your ushered figure with a pitying look on her pale face.

It didn't take much seconds to be in front of your grandmother's room. The wooden floor creaked below as you walked in that surface, Charlotte just behind you. Your grandmother laid in her bed, your eyes narrowing when her chest could be visibly seen heaving up and down in a very slow pace. Her [e/c] eyes fluttered, as if she was trying her best to keep it open and not to be shut. Your heart sank at her state.

A frown was glued on her face, as if permanently even when she hadn't noticed you yet and somehow the tightness in your chest have gone tighter even more. Her usual playful and bright demeanour wasn't evident around her. She would have greeted you with a smile on her face. Her aura should have been radiating around the room and yet, none of it was evident.

The room was dark, the windows were closed for the weather outside was turning gloomy, the bits of the rays of the setting sun was vanishing as dusk will fall. The momentary cracks of lightning was a calling of a raging storm. What served as a source of light was the oil lamp that was either side of her bed placed on a night stand and from the lamps that castwd a soft glow outside the room where the door was opened. But all you could see now was the sunken droopy eyes, the depressing curve on her lips and her sickenly pale skin. Her right hand weakly reached towards you, in a motion for you to come with her.

You looked at the nurse behind you and gave her a look. Immediately understanding what you were implying, she nodded and smiled at the old woman lying in bed and back to you before gently closing the door.

" I thought you weren't going to come. " You pulled the wooden chair that was beside on the right night stand and placed it next to her bed. You sat on the chair next to her and took her hand with gentleness as if she were glass that if you crushed she would have been shattered into pieces. You intertwined your hand with hers but couldn't make yourself look straight to her eyes. Instead, you had them casted down to both of where your hands were resting. A sorrow look on your eyes with your very own frown on your lips, you couldn't bring yourself to utter a reply.
