it was the biggest monday of my whole life. normally people dread them but today i was bursting with energy. my mom made me breakfast as she normally does before she headed off to her new job since the monster laws were abolished. i scarfed down my eggs with brain purée and headed out of the door. i felt vulnerable in my outfit but nothing could stop me. my heart was skipping beats as i raced to school. Zed normally didn't leave his house until the very last second so i had plenty of time to gather myself before he saw me.

sitting through my first 2 classes was a fate worse than death. my leg was bouncing the entire time. i couldn't have told you one thing i was taught that morning. the bell rang alerting us to class change. i jumped out of my seat my knees shaking a little and my hands sliding off of my backpack strap due to sweat. i was a wreck but i looked amazing. which made me feel a little better. for the first time i took pride in my emerald hair and my pale skin. it was the one thing i had over Addison Wells. I strutted into math class with the confidence of a queen. i glance at Zed trying not to seem to noticeable and i saw him staring down into his book trying not to make eye contact with Addison who was directly next to him. i took my seat and listened to the teacher explain the project and finally i heard the words leave her lips "please stand up and choose a partner". normally this is when Addison ran to Zed but today was different. it was MY turn today.

i may have jumped a little too forcefully but none the less i had a mission to accomplish. i walked over to Zed who looked grief stricken. i lightly tapped on his shoulder. he looked up at me and for the first time in a long time i knew exactly what to say. "hey Zed i was wondering if you wanted to come over tonight and work on the project with me" the words came out a little too fast for my liking but i saw his purple lips rise in a smile. he took a deep breath in and glanced over his shoulder at Addison who looked dumbfounded and said "i would love to, Zeo."

i could hardly contain myself on the way to my 4th period class. for the rest of the day i was a clumsy mess. my body still rushing with adrenaline and my hands still shaky. but i made it through the day without any accidents.

i ran home without a second to spare. i had to make sure my room my top notch for such company. my mom wouldn't be home till much later since she was also taking night classes at a local community college a town away. so i sprinted with my books in hand all the way home.
