Before you knew what happened you heard the sound of a punch. You fell to the floor from the force. Then came the stinging sensation. Your ears rang for a few seconds. Then you realized you had a bit if trouble opening your left eye.

"Look at what you made me do!" Alex yelled at you.

Behind you heard two pairs of feet run out. You sank to the floor in shame trying to hide and shield yourself a bit. You felt a pair of hands on you, and you jumped a bit. When you looked up it was Mokuba. He helped you up to your feet. You looked over to Alex and saw Seto putting space between you and Alex.

Mokuba helped you into the mansion with Seto following behind after a few minutes. Mokuba sat you in the kitchen before he pulled out a pack of ice for you eye. You sat the stools in the kitchen as Mokuba helped you to put ice on your eye. You didn't know what to say.

"I'm sorry." You blubbered out trying to keep from crying.

"It's fine." Mokuba tried to reassure you while keeping the ice on your face.

"You sure? I'm so sorry. I didn't know he would follow me here." You started to cry out.

"It's fine. He's gone anyways." Seto said.

"Thank you." You said as you felt tears starting to come out.

"I'll get you some cream!" Mokuba said as he ran out of the kitchen.

You held the ice on your eye while crying to yourself. You wiped some tears from your good eye. Was this really your fault? You should've just listened and maybe things would've been better. Thinking about it made you cry more.

"Will you be safe?" Seto asked.

"huh?" You responded.

"Will you be safe if you went home?" He asked again.

You thought for a moment. Alex knew where you lived. Your roommate might accidentally let him in since he had been over so many times before.

"I don't know." You said softly looking at the ground in shame.

"Would you like to stay here while you figure out if you're safe?" He asked.

"Are you sure? I don't want to impose." You said.

"It's only until you're safe. You already know the rules of the house." He stated.

"Thank you." You said looking up at him.

Mokuba ran back in after that. He was holding a squeeze tube of Arnica ointment. You moved the ice pack as he gently put the ointment on your face. Even though he was gentle it still hurt like a motherfucker.

"Mokuba. They'll stay in your room tonight until we can get the guest room cleaned up." He said.

"Huh?! Why my room?" He started complaining.

"The other rooms are dirty. I'll be turning in for the night." He said as he turned to leave.

Mokuba groaned before he realized what Seto had said. "Wait! You get to stay over?!" He exclaimed.

You nodded. "Only because I don't feel completely safe going home yet."

"I guess you can stay on the couch in my room. Or I could stay on the couch..." He started talking to himself before leading you up to his room.

You never got explore the upstairs. Walking up the stairs felt magical. The grand staircase made you feel like a fairytale princess. Instead of losing a shoe you lost some depth perception. While walking up the stairs Mokuba asked you about Alex. You told him everything. Leading up to today. He responded by saying Alex sounds like a bitch. You laughed a bit.

Once you both made it to Mokuba's room you noticed it was a bit messy. Some clothes loosely strewn about and some paper plates scattered on some desks. You watched as he quickly tried to clean up some of the messes. Once that was done he grabbed a few pillows and blankets from the bed and placed them on the couch.

"You can have the bed. Seto said it was only for tonight." He said as he set himself up on the couch.

You laughed and got yourself ready for bed. Mokuba was quickly able to get to sleep. He had been sleeping earlier so he was probably still tired from cleaning. You laid in bed for a while listening to Mokuba snore. You tried to sleep yourself but your thoughts were keeping you awake.

Maybe a small walk would help. You quietly snuck out of bed and into the hallway. At night this place looked even bigger. Darkness swallowed whatever the moonlight didn't light up. Not trying to risk falling down the stairs at night you sat at the banister and stuck your legs through the bars. Luckily, they were wide enough.

You sat there swinging your legs, softly humming a song you forgot the lyrics to. You looked around at your new surroundings. Soon your thoughts were back to torment you. This time you let yourself cry. You kept quiet though. You didn't want anyone to hear you. Everything was a mess. What had you gotten yourself into? The Kaiba's probably thought you're pathetic.

"Can't sleep?"

You turned towards the voice. You watched as Seto walked out from his part of the house, illuminated by the moonlight. You wiped the tears from your eyes, trying to be careful of the black eye.

"Y-eah." You tried to say normally but your voice still cracked.

He stood next to you. "I know what it feels like."

"Insomnia?" You asked.

He chuckled a bit before getting serious. "No. Getting hurt by someone you thought cared about you."

"Oh..." You responded turning back to the look at the living room below you.

"I heard what you told Mokuba about your 'friend'." He started before pausing for a bit.

You both stayed in silence for a bit. You weren't sure what to say.

"My adoptive father used to hurt me if I was ever out of line." He continued.

"I'm sorry." You said.

"It's fine. He's dead. He can't hurt us anymore." Seto said with some relief.

"You should do some thinking on your relationship with him." He concluded.

"Thinking about it is why I'm still awake." You replied while laying back.

"Come with me." He said as he started walking behind you.

"It's a little hard to walk down the sta-" You stopped talking when you noticed the elevator doors opening.

What the fuck. They have a fucking elevator??? You quickly got up to follow Seto into the elevator. Once it reached the first floor you followed him out to the kitchen. There you sat down, and he turned on the lights. You watched as he warmed up some milk and honey in a small pot.

Once steam was coming off of it, he poured it out into two cups. You both drank in silence for a while. It was warm and not too sweet. He got a good look at you while you were drinking and picked up the arnica ointment. He held your face and softly applied more to your eye. It still hurt but he was softer than Mokuba.

"Thank you again for letting me stay." You said.

"Think of it as repayment, now drink and go to bed." He said as he finished the drink.

Once you had finished, he led you back into the elevator. Maybe that milk and honey worked a little too well. You were yawning a couple times. Once upstairs he got out and went to his room. You went to Mokuba's room and quietly snuck back into bed. Somehow you managed to sleep.
