Locked Away

Studying

After the whole fiasco at the coffee shop, you spent the next few days relaxing as best as you could. Exams would be coming up in the next few weeks. It was no surprise you found yourself restless at night again. You spent some time in your room trying to study and distract yourself. One thing led to another and you ended up watching tiktoks until that no longer entertained you.

Finally you decided to put down your phone. Maybe another late night walk in the cool air would calm your mind. A stroll to Seto's little garden would be nice. You were pretty sure he had some lavender that you could use to relax or something.

As you walked through the halls of the mansion, you run into Seto once more. He was probably feeling restless himself. You walk up to him, with a smile on your face. Were you happy to see him? You push the thought away and approach him.

"Up late again?" You asked.

"I could say the same for you." He smirked.

You let out a breathy chuckle in response to his remark. You roll your eyes in a playful manner before looking back at him. He made his way over to you and you swore you could see a hint of a smile. Then again, it could be the darkness playing tricks on your eyes.

"What's keeping you up this time?" He asked.

"Just some late night studying. Even though me and Mokuba aren't in the same room, he still finds a way to distract me during the day." You tell him, hoping he'd find it at least a bit amusing.

The ever serious looking Kaiba brother nodded his head and seemed to be thinking. You felt a bit bad. Was he taking this more as a complaint, you weren't trying to complain. Hopefully Mokuba wouldn't get reprimanded for this. Just before you try to say something he speaks first.

"Come with me." He tells you.

He begins to lead you towards his side of the mansion. Uncharted territory for you, you feel a bit wary stepping onto that side.

"This side of the mansion? Are you sure?" You ask, not sure if he wants you to follow him.

He stops to look back at you. He nods and beckons you to follow him. You do. He brings you towards a door, opening it and ushering you in. The room was dark and you couldn't make anything out.

Once he steps in, he closes the door behind the both of you. Before you could question him, you heard him flick a light switch. Your eyes took a moment to adjust to the sudden brightness but when they did you got a good look at the room.

You were stunned at the sight. A personal two story library. You both were on the second story balcony. There were so many books and on the first floor you see a desk and a few couches. You were too amazed to really say anything.

"You can use it whenever you need." Seto broke the silence.

You looked back at him. His focus was on you and he seemed to be wearing a proud smile. He seemed to like seeing you amazed by the things he has. Almost like he was showing off.

"Since Mokuba can't seem to keep himself busy while you study, you can come here when you need some time away from him." He continued.

You looked back around at the library, taking more notice about the desk. You pointed it out to him. "Do you use this place? I don't want to bother you or intrude on yo-"

"No, it's fine." He interrupted you.

"Your presence isn't a bother to me." He continued.

You could feel yourself blush a bit at his words. You turn away in hopes he doesn't take notice. Taking the chance to distract yourself by admiring the place. You look at the books, reading their titles as you walk. A lot of them were business based but every now and then, there were a few classic books.
