Blocked

You were woken up by your phone buzzing continuously. You rubbed your eyes and looked at your phone. Two in the morning and 75 texts and 10 missed phone calls. You quickly skimmed through the texts.

Each text was filled with vitriol about you. Others were him begging to talk to you. Now you were awake and anxiety started to creep its ugly head. You tried to control your breathing but that didn't help.

You got up and snuck out of the room. It was better to get up and move around rather than stay where you were. You walked to the banister and saw a light coming from the living room. You looked over and saw Seto at the home bar.

You decided to walk down the stairs and see what he was up to. His back was towards you and he seemed to be drinking. You cleared your voice to let him know you were approaching. When you did that he turned towards you.

"Is this becoming a habit for you?" He asked.

"I'm sorry. I just needed to walk around." You replied.

"It's fine. Join me?" He asked.

You pulled out a chair near him and placed your phone face down on the bar. He took a drink from his glass as you sat down.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

You were silent for a moment, unsure if you wanted to tell him the truth. That was, until your phone began to ring again. You tensed up and felt a pit form in your stomach before rushing to silence your phone.

"No..." You sighed.

He looked at you and waited for you to talk.

"I've been getting texts from Alex and.." You started.

"Let me see." He said while holding his hand out.

You stared at him a bit confused before you unlocked your phone. You handed him the phone and watched as he read through them. His expression never changed while he read it. Eventually he started to fiddle around with your phone.

"What are you doing?" You asked.

"Blocking him." He responded.

"What? But wh-" You were started.

"Do you really need him texting you at this hour? It's not doing you any good." He interrupted you.

He was right. With Alex blocked you won't be woken up like this again. If you ever needed his number you could easily unblock him. You let out a sigh and felt a bit of relief.

"Thank you." You finally said.

He handed you back your phone. You turned it off and placed it back on the bar. You looked at it for a while, not sure if it would start ringing again. That's when Seto stood up and you focused your attention on him.

"Let's go for a walk." He stated.

"Is that safe?" You asked.

"The only one stupid enough to break in was you. Besides, security is always on guard." He replied.

You chuckled a bit remembering the whole incident. You were still a bit hesitant to get up but he put his hand out for you to grab. Shyly you reached for his hand and got up. You were a bit flustered to be holding hands with him. He led you out through the glass doors.

The full moon illuminated everything. You could clearly make out the dried up pool and surrounding area. It was cleaned up though so it looked a lot better than the last time you saw it.

Seto led you away from the pool area and down a path that seemed to head into the bushes that surrounded the wall behind the mansion. Confused, you still held onto his hand. As you got closer to the bushes you could make out an opening in the bush.

You follow him into the bushes, turning corners every now and then. Finally you make it out of the bush into a garden area. It was a bit overrun with flowers and bushes taking over some of the path. Once there he let go of your hand.

"This is my own private garden, I come here to relax when I get stressed." He stated.

"It's so pretty." You replied looking at the flower bushes near you.

He walked to an area with lilacs. You bent down to smell the roses on a rose bush. They were very fragrant and you didn't need to get super close to smell them. They were slightly sweet smelling with undertones of grass and musk.

"You're free to use this space as well when you get stressed." He said.

You shifted your attention from the roses to him. He wasn't facing you but in the short silence he turned to look at you. from what you could make out he looked a little flustered.

"Thank you. I will use it when I need a break." You responded.

You tried to grab one of the roses when you pricked your finger.

"Ow!" You said more shocked than hurt.

You hold your finger to look at it and Seto comes to your side. He grabbed your hand to take a look at it. It's hard to see it in limited light but you're pretty sure it wasn't too bad.

"I'm fine, it was just a small prick." You state.

You looked up at him and realized just how close he was to you. You felt your face get a little hot when he looked up at you. You both stared at each other for a moment before he let go of your hands and turned away.

"It's getting late." He stammered.

"Yeah. We should get to bed." You said.

He led the way out of the garden and back into the mansion. You walked with him until you got to the bar. He stopped there.

"Aren't you going back upstairs?" You asked.

"I need to clean up here. We don't have maids that will clean up after us." He said.

"Oh. Well, I'll be leaving first then." You stated.

You both told each other goodnight before you made your way back to Mokuba's room. Quietly you snuck back into the room and climbed into bed. Mokuba was snoring on the couch in his room so you knew he was dead asleep. You laid down and tried to fall back to sleep.

You let your mind wander and you remembered looking into Seto's eyes in the garden. The way the moonlight shone in his eyes was just beautiful. Were they always that deep of a blue? You could feel yourself blushing again.

You were supposed to help him get out of the house not develop a crush on him. You couldn't help it though. He had been treating you pretty well and even let you stay here for the time being. It also didn't help that he had a really pretty face.

You took a deep breath and exhaled. You tried to talk some sense into yourself. There's no way Seto Kaiba of Kaiba Corporation would like you. You're just the person who broke in and is now friends with his brother. You're basically a nobody to him.

Besides, why would he even want someone like you?
